Through hardship to the stars

A future fashion designer was born in Detroit, Michigan. It happened on August 4, 1964. Fashion began to interest the girl from the very childhood. The girl, when her fashion magazines fell into her hands, with a huge excitement, cut out from their pages models of clothes that she had to taste, after that she pasted them into her folders. Just these cuttings as a result and became the main factor that inspired Anna to create her own collection of clothes. In addition to the magazine clippings, she showed her talent for the first time in her childhood, dressing up her puppets and her friend's soldiers in colorful costumes, which she dashingly made from rags of various fabrics.

When Sui turned 17 years old, she firmly decided to study the art of fashion design. The girl to master this profession became a student of the prestigious educational institution - Parson School of Design. It was there that Anna's acquaintance with the future star of world photography Stephen Meisel, who invited the girl to become a stylist in his photography, happened. But neither this, nor the subsequent experience of work to the future fashion designer has brought any special results.

After graduating from college, Anna tries herself by working in many children's clothing companies. Actively tries to produce models. Only in 1981 Anna Sui founded her own brand. Aspustya ten years, in 1991, with the support of her friends Linda Evangelists and Naomi Campbell, Sui organizes his first show of a new collection of pret-a-porter. Her "puppet" empire

Anna Sui, inspired by her achievements, already in 1991 opens her very first boutique in one of Soho's New York districts. This boutique was created in the design of the original taste of the most fashion designer: lavender walls, red floors, vintage interior, black furniture and bizarre dummies that had doll heads. By the way, all the other boutiques that the fashion designer soon discovered in the US, Japan, Germany, Italy and France were decorated by Anna in such an unusual style. Persistent fans always demand from the fashion designer new ideas. The same goes for Sui, who enthusiastically embodied her ideas in creating a successful shoe line, and then also in the line of cosmetics, perfumes and accessories.
