Very often, savory is mistakenly called thyme. And the reason is that the names of these plants in Russian sound quite similar. However, these are completely different herbs, although they are still close relatives. It is about the medicinal properties of the chaiber today and will be discussed.

In dried form, savory goes on cooking dishes from mushrooms, beans, as well as cheeses, potato salads and salads with meat. Rarely it is used in dishes with champignons. It is used for fish and meat dishes, for marinating and pickling various vegetables.

Savory is often included in the composition of various mixtures of spices. If you add it to the marjoram, the smell of this mixture will resemble the aroma of black pepper. Mixtures with chavers are often used as an alternative to classic spices.

Microelements are also present in the composition of the chaiber. First, iron (37. 88 mg), secondly, zinc (4. 3 mg), third manganese (6. 1 mg), as well as selenium (4. 6 μg) and copper (847 μg ).

Since ancient times, the herb savory has been used as a medicinal plant. During the Middle Ages it was used as a tonic and an analgesic drug. A number of countries recognized this plant officially as medicinal. This applies, for example, to Germany and France.

Chaber helps to stimulate the secretory activity of digestive juices, they cure a runny nose, spasms of the intestines and stomach. In small amounts it helps to awaken appetite and improve digestion. Strongly pronounced disinfecting bactericidal properties of the chaiber made it possible to use it for the disinfection of products.

Chaiber is included in the compositions of many herbal remedies that help, for example, from diarrhea, flatulence. Tincture of this plant or its juice can calm the pain of bee stings, reduce swelling that appears after bites. They help to remove digestive disorders, reduce pain and help with spasms of the intestines and stomach. A substance called carvacrol is obtained from the chaiber. It is used as an antifungal agent and antibacterial.

An essential oil is also obtained from this plant. It is widely used in the treatment with aromatherapy. More recently, studies of the chaiber have been conducted. As a result, it was proved that it can be used to prevent oncological damage to the body and general aging.

Folk healers recommend savory for headaches, dizziness, tachycardia, rhinitis, cystitis, acute respiratory disease, lesions of the digestive system.

Doctors do not recommend eating savory if you suffer from chronic diseases, for example, the liver and kidneys, if you have ulcerative gastrointestinal lesions. It is also harmful in pregnancy, atherosclerosis, cardiosclerosis, atrial fibrillation and with thyroid disease. Also, when using it, individual intolerance should be considered.
