How to choose a laptop

The choice of a laptop is quite a complicated question for a person who is not versed in computer technology. After all, each laptop has its own unique features, which you may not even suspect about the purchase.

Therefore, if you decide to buy a computer, be sure to read this article, it will help save you a lot of time and nerves.
So, laptops are selected according to the following characteristics:

1. Manufacturer.
The best manufacturer of laptops is rightly considered to be Apple. Following it are world-famous ASUS, DELL and SONY. We recommend to trust only these manufacturers, since the rest could not prove themselves from the positive side in the world market.

2. The processor.
If you do not want to spoil your nerves due to permanent brakes, choose a dual-core processor with a frequency of at least 2.3GHz. For heavy applications (like Adobe Photoshop), choose at least 2.8GHz, and for games - only a quad-core processor.

3. The diagonal.
The size of your laptop depends directly on the diagonal. Notebooks with a diagonal of 8-9 inches can easily be put into the inner pocket of the jacket. For frequent trips it is better to choose a laptop with a diagonal of 13-14 inches, this is the best option for the ratio of size and weight. For gaming laptops, choose 17 inches or more.

4. Operative memory.
For comfortable work without permanent brakes and delays choose a laptop with 4 GB of memory or more. For gaming laptops - at least 8GB of memory. It is very desirable to choose third-generation RAM (PC3-10600 and higher).

5. Operating system.
Be sure to check whether the operating system that is convenient for you is installed on the laptop. Sometimes on laptops put the OS of the family * NIX (for example, Linux). If you have never worked on such an operating system before, do not agree to buy a laptop with this operating system.

6. Hard disk.
When evaluating a hard disk, pay attention to the following parameters:

  1. Interface connection - must be either SATA-II or SATA-III (preferably the latter).
  2. The rotation speed is 5400, 7200 or IntelliPower. We recommend to choose 7200, because IntelliPower (a technology that allows you to alternate the speed of work depending on the load) is not yet fully thought out and is unstable.
  3. Volume - the maximum amount of stored data. Choose the amount of data with a margin, so that later you do not need to change the disk to a more "voluminous." The minimum value is usually considered to be 320GB.
7. Ports.
Think about which of the following types of ports you might need:
8. The external panel.
Inspect the outer panel carefully. Be sure to check whether there are indicators on the laptop for the Caps Lock, whether the touchpad is convenient, etc.

9. Additional devices.
Do not forget to check if your laptop has Wi-Fi, optical drive (DVD), audio, video camera and Wi-Fi, if any of this may be necessary for you.

Successful purchase!
