How to choose cosmetics for oily skin: three tips from experts

Rashes, greasy shine, enlarged pores - these problems are not by hearsay familiar to owners of oily skin. Given such characteristics, home care is often based on a simple motto "to dry, matte, mask." How true is this approach? Dermatologists and make-up artists share their thoughts.

Rule number 1 - moisturizing. Brilliant "like a pancake" skin - a consequence of excessive work of the sebaceous glands. To normalize their activity will help, paradoxically, intensive saturation with moisture: moisturizing tonics, lotions, serums and emulsions will help balance the excretory function of the glands. Regular meals, drinking regimen and full sleep will make the effect even more vivid.

Rule No. 2 - control of the composition of products. Cosmetic lines for oily skin often contain a significant amount of alcohol and zinc. Continuous use of such drugs can create the opposite effect: dehydration, allergic reactions, drying of the upper layers of the dermis and, as a consequence, an increase in acne and areas with acne. Use the "drying" series of courses to achieve certain results.

Rule number 3 - correct matting. Try to give preference to tonal creams and powders without silicone in the composition - its ability to make the skin smooth, hiding the enlarged pores, is caused by their blockage. Clogging of the pores leads to the formation of comedones and acne, as well as to an increase in the activity of the sebaceous glands. Pay attention to natural absorbents - corn starch, flaxseed: they absorb the excess of sebum, but do not harm the skin.
