Parents, showing foresight and insisting that the child received a "prestigious" specialty, in fact, do children a disservice. "Most people of the older generation are convinced: you need to choose a profession that will help you find a place in life. This legacy is "scoop". The idea that reflects liberal values sounds different: find your own business, and then you will become successful. This is the most productive strategy: determine your strengths and maximize your own potential.

The daughter studies there in the International Economic Department, mother by education as a philologist, but for many years she was a housewife. Both are delighted with the prospect of becoming glossy journalists, but judging by the materials they offered the editor-in-chief, they do not have the slightest information for this. Education, for which they laid out for five thousand hryvnia, was a completely mediocre waste of time and money.

Asking myself how quickly to get a second higher education, sometimes the change of profession does not follow the principle "from the opposite", but because the person has achieved the maximum in his business, feels the potential for something completely different - and abruptly turns around, living two professional lives instead of one. For example, actress Elena Drapeko ("A Dawns Here Are Quiet", "Lonely Dormitory Is Given," "Window to Paris") in 1996 went into politics, and for 10 years continuously elected a deputy of the State Duma. But this successful option "it was good, but it will be even better" is not worth discussing - you can only applaud and envy. On the agenda are more unpleasant events. You are sick, the business you gave years, fed up, you want something different. Or maybe it threatens to be dismissed from the reduction of staff, and it is clear that you will not find a well-paid place in your former profession. We need to understand, first, what the soul is for, and secondly, what are your chances of succeeding in the new business.

The psychologist she wants to become has a completely different picture of the world! He knows that there are five different points of view for any problem, in any person there are five different subpersonalities, and there is no one "correct" point of view, there is not one "main" subpersonality! So, professional deformation is one.
Two: this woman has serious ambitions. It is necessary that she understands: when entering someone else's professional party, she gets to the lowest level. And it is not a fact that even after 10 years she will be able to occupy the position she already had when she was a lawyer. This is very important: get rid of euphoria and really assess your prospects. And, finally, three. I am convinced that at the heart of such throwings, women usually have a motive that has nothing to do with the profession. Namely - the need for recognition, the desire to win the respect of a certain reference group, for example, friends who have reached a high status, or, more often, men. If the spouse keeps telling you that journalism is an occupation for loafers who do not know how to talk, but its accounting and audit is an important and necessary thing, one must understand: even having studied at the auditor, even having achieved some successes, you still do not achieve the respect of her husband. Because, devaluing your profession, it depreciates you, your personal, not professional qualities. You do not need the advice of an echar, but the help of a psychologist.
The main thing is to realistically assess the situation. Include alternative thinking. If you said to yourself: "My work is boring to me," try to have alternative thoughts. For example: "It's not in the work, but in the fact that I have problems in the family." Or: "It's not in the work, but in the fact that my boss discriminates against women, and I'm no longer a girl to be pushed around." And so on. There should always be many different views on any situation. Even how you cook borscht. Then life will become much more interesting, and unexpectedly attractive faces will appear in a bored profession.

Having decided with the specialty and university, you need to immediately look for ways to find employment in a new specialty, even if for little money or without money at all. Only practice can confirm the correctness of your choice. And the knowledge acquired in the university should be treated not as a truth in the last instance, but as a scheme of thinking adopted in this field of activity. Perceive training as an interesting game, then knowledge is quickly absorbed and easier to translate into real skills.
If we are talking about business specialties, then the most common option is MBA (business school), the standard of education that came to us from the West. MBA students are people with higher education and managerial experience. The two best business schools in Ukraine are MIMKiev and Kyiv-Mohyla Business School. Both have a long history and a solid teaching staff. The most important knowledge can be gleaned from literature - both classical textbooks and modern articles. Otherwise, even the best specialist in a few years will lose his professional competence and will be forced out of the market. But the buzz from self-development and self-learning - not to mention the recognition and appreciation of the authorities - can justify all the moral and material costs of acquiring a second education.
