Konstantin Meladze does not let Vera Brezhnev go to Eurovision

Russia has long been determined with the performer, who will present it this year at Eurovision-2016, deciding to send Sergei Lazarev there. But Ukraine has organized a whole TV show to choose a worthy representative.
Potential participants of the popular competition are judged by a jury, which includes Andrei Danilko and Ruslana Lyzhichko. The jury is headed by Konstantin Meladze.

Many were confident that the popular composer would send his wife Vera Brezhnev to Sweden, because the singer has both charisma and talent.

Konstantin Meladze in a conversation with journalists denied these rumors, noting that both Vera and the band VIA Gra do not go to Eurovision. The composer is sure that less popular artists should participate in the competition:

I do not get the point of it. It's already really formed touring artists. Here you need to give way to people who need a career breakthrough.

Now a list of 18 candidates has been formed, among which there are both known names and new talents.
