One day, Eugene Schueller, a young chemical engineer, laboratory assistant at the Central Pharmacy in France, came home and found Louise's wife in tears. The reason for the disorder was a visit to the hairdresser who turned the blond woman's locks into a sheaf of straw (without exaggeration!). My husband had no choice but to promise to create the best paint in the world for his beloved. In those days, most women dyed hair with vegetable paints - henna and basma. Which, of course, did not give a special variety in shades. And he achieved his goal: in 1907, as a result of the thorough and painstaking research of a chemist, the first synthesized hair dye, which was named L'Oreal, was born.

Louise was ecstatic, and Eugene, inspired by the result, carried her creation to a familiar barber.


So what is next?
