Biography of Heath Ledger

Until now, looking at films with Heath Ledger, it's hard to believe that he's no longer with us. Life took him only 29 years of life, but he managed to do during this time, for which we will always remember him. He presented the world with his bright talent, his charming smile, warm eyes and unforgettable roles in the cinema. Childhood and youth
Heathcliff (or simply Heath) Ledger was born in the town of Perth in Australia on April 4, 1979 in the Irish and Australian family. Mother worked as a teacher of French, father - an engineer in the mining industry, but passionately passionate about racing. Therefore, he wanted to see his son's career in sport, but Heath chose his destiny. But first things first.

His name was given to the boy by his mother's fascination with novels. She wished to name her son in honor of the hero of her favorite book by writer Emilia Brante "Wuthering Heights".

In 1989, when the boy turned 10 years old, the family disintegrated, parents divorced. Young Heath began to live with his mother, but he often saw his father and they kept a good relationship.

When the future movie star went to school, he had several serious hobbies at once: playing for the school's national team of hockey on the grass, participating in a dance studio and performing at a theatrical school scene. And the last hobby, which later became his profession and made him world celebrity, came to him completely unexpectedly: before the next academic year the pupils had to choose the elective, and Ledger needed to decide what to do: culinary art or theater art. Heath hated cooking, so the choice was made in favor of acting. Later he became the captain of the theater school troupe and performed together with the team in interurban competitions. And when he had to definitively decide between continuing his career in sports or theater, he did not hesitate to choose the stage.

The beginning of an acting career
After receiving a certificate of maturity in 1996, Hit travels to the metropolis of Sydney, where he hopes to start a career as a film actor. Gradually, he begins to star in small roles in various television series and shows. His first role - a cyclist of non-traditional sexual orientation in the series about the youth sports school. The role is quite successful and he is soon invited to a series of youth teenage TV series "Black Rock", "Lapa", TV show "Caramel" (all in 1997). Then he got into the series about the mystical heroes of "Reb" (1998) (similar to the idea and staging of "Xena" or "Hercules"). Despite the fact that the series did not have much success and after a while his shooting stopped, thanks to him, Heath became recognized not only in his native Australia, but he also had admirers overseas in the United States.

In 1999, Heath Ledger decided to try his luck abroad in America. However, American filmmakers did not hurry to sign a contract with a young unknown Australian actor. But to help Heath came his compatriot - director Gregory Jordan, who invited him to lead the film comedy "Fingers Fan." The picture again did not gain popularity, but helped Ledger to cast for the role in the youthful comedy "Ten reasons why I hate" (1999). After renting a picture, a label of the teenage role adhered to the young actor, which Hitu categorically did not like. He sought for himself characteristic, dramatic and non-linear roles. Therefore, the next year he spent tying up the thresholds of film studios and passing castings, while refusing to send him the roles of teenage boys.

Soon his perseverance crowned with success, he starred in the military drama "Patriot" (2000), along with the world-size star Australian Mel Gibsan. The film was very successful and after the release of Ledger in the press even called the second Gibson. But Heath did not want to be someone's shadow and number two, even after such a celebrity as Mel Gibson. He wanted to be Heath Ledger and only him.

In the next few years, Ledger acted in several films, sorting out and trying on different roles, characters and roles.

Career peak
In 2005, the enchanting career of the actor took place. He acted in four films at once, which were received very kindly by the audience: "Brothers Grimm", "Kings of Dogtown", "Casanova". But separately it is necessary to allocate a picture "Brokeback Mountain", which brought Ledger world fame. This is a film about the love of two homosexual cowboys, where Heath played one of the main characters in a pair with Jake Gillinhall. Melodrama with a spicy plot had a resounding success both among spectators and critics. The picture won several "Oscars" and "Golden Globes," and Ledger himself became the nominee for America's most prestigious film award for best actor.

Certainly, it was a breakthrough. Ledger fell asleep with tempting offers and Heath could now choose the roles that he liked. He starred in the melodramatic film "Candy" (2006) and in the biographical drama about Bob Dylan "I'm not here" (2007).

In the same 2007, he played in yet another film, finally affirming Heath Ledger as a star of the first magnitude. It is about the role of the anti-hero Joker in the film about Bettman "The Dark Knight". Ledger is so surprisingly strong and elaborated to the minutiae that he depicted the character of the villain, that no one had any doubts - this is a serious application for the Oscar.

At the end of 2007, Ledger begins shooting in the picture "The Imaginarium of Doctor Pornasa", but the sudden sudden death of the actor interrupted the shooting and the film had to be slightly changed, introducing the hero Ledger in three faces: Johnny Depp, Colin Farel and Jude Law.

Personal life
It is known about a lot of Ledger's novels, mainly with the actresses, whom he met on the set of the next film.

But the main love of his life can be called the actress Michelle Williams. He got acquainted with her in 2004 on the "Brokeback Mountain" site. She played a movie wife of the hero Ledger. Roman spun quickly and swiftly, and by the end of the year Michelle was pregnant.

In 2005, the couple was born Matilda's daughter. The hit of the soul did not see in his daughter, he said that "he adores two of his most beloved girls in the world." Michelle and Heath were called one of Hollywood's most beautiful couples. However, to officially bind themselves by marriage, the couple was not in a hurry. And a couple of years later at the end of 2007 they completely broke up. It was rumored that Williams could no longer tolerate the fact that her husband was addicted to light drugs and alcohol.

Ledger was very upset with the gap with Michelle, fell into a real depression. Perhaps this also brought his untimely death to an end.

Death
On January 22, 2008, the body of Heath Ledger was found by a housekeeper in his capital penthouse. He was lying on the couch, and next to him were found several opened packages of potent anesthetics and sleeping pills. The first version, which arose among the police, is suicide. However, the autopsy and further investigation showed that, most likely, his death was an absurd coincidence. Heath Ledger died of the incompatibility of the analgesics he took - sleeping pills and antidepressants.

His death was a shock, not only for his admirers and people from the world of cinema and show business, but also for ordinary people. After all, Ledger's talent was amazingly contoured and harsh, indifferent to him it was simply impossible. Unfortunately, it often happens that the great ones die young.

Heath was awarded the Oscar and Golden Globe awards as the best actor for the painting The Dark Knight, unfortunately, posthumously. His parents received the statuette.

Heath Ledger's body was prone to cremation, the urn with ashes buried in the city of Perth in Australia, where he was born and raised.
