Child in nature bitten by arachnid

Remember how often we used to chase after all sorts of cockroaches-cockroaches: we were genuinely amused by how quickly they sifted a bunch of their thin legs, how they rush to find a way out of the dangerous situation to be caught by playful children's hands? Then we did not think that, for example, an ordinary-looking spider could bite us, and the consequences of this bite could be the most deplorable. As you can already understand, the theme of our today's cognitive article reads: "A child in nature bites a spider": what to do in this case and how to distinguish an innocuous bite from attacking a poisonous arachnid?

First, let's try to understand: why is the situation when a child is bitten by a spider-like nature, is becoming more popular? Probably, the whole thing is in the global warming of the climate: our latitudes have not previously been dotted with such strange animals and insects as now. Now in our country there are much more poisonous heat-loving beings - arachnids are no exception.

When you are going to nature with your child, be prepared for the baby to be susceptible to attack by arachnids, especially if you know for sure that the baby is not indifferent to them, loves to catch up with them, pick them up. Explain to him that the domestic "watch" - spiders on the long paws that so often occupy the corners of our homes - are harmless, but they have poisonous "brothers" that can hurt the child. In principle, the situation when a child in nature bites something small and similar to a spider, is rarely dangerous - indeed, most of the arachnids living in our latitudes can not cause harm to the child. However, there are some among them, whose bite is especially dangerous for babies. Here we will include scorpions, karakurts and tarantulas. Probably every parent now shuddered, re-reading these names, and it's not surprising: after all, we heard about the dangerous nature of these arachnids, even for an adult, not to mention a child.

So, if during a walk your baby is bitten by a spider, or something that looks very much like a spider - this is an occasion to immediately begin to provide the child with emergency care and take care to deliver it to a medical institution as short as possible terms.

If you could get through to the "first aid", then, in anticipation of the arrival of doctors, you can help your child with the following actions (they are all the more obligatory if the medical assistance is delayed or can not come at all, since you did not get through).

1. The first rule with a bite: lay a small victim on the blanket, do not allow him to even move, because every muscle contraction only quickly disperses the poison through the body and promotes its absorption into the blood.

2. To the boring place you need to immediately apply cold. If this dangerous situation occurred near your home - then gently, without unnecessary shaking, bring the child into the house, get something cold from the freezer (any frozen briquettes with meat, or just a little ice). If nothing is needed in the freezer - place the affected area under a tap of cold water from the tap (if you have already bandaged it - then along with the bandages). You can simply type it in the basin - and dip the bitten part of the body there, if possible. If you are in the wild, and about any refrigerators and water from the tap, there can be no speech, then drop into the store - and buy something cold there: even a banal ice cream will do. In very wild places, you can save a stream of cold water flowing nearby - moisten a gauze or a piece of cloth in it - and attach it to the place of bite. Well, if you have a thermos bottle with you, it's all right, because there is a cold cell in its walls, which you probably "charged" before going to the freezer. We are talking about a plastic container, consisting of cells filled with liquid - this capacity allows you to keep the cold for as long as possible. By the way, now all doctors unanimously recommend buying a coolant even if you do not have a thermos bottle - and carry it with you on camping trips just for such cases.

3. If a spider bites your child in a limb, then the procedure is as follows:

    - Immobilization of the limb must be made (that is, its immobility is ensured by the method of applying a tire from an improvised means, or tying the diseased limb to a healthy one);

    - tightly bandage the damaged area by making the first coil of bandage not right at the site of the bite, but centimeters five above it; bandage so that between your child's body and the dressing material you can freely pass your finger;

    - carefully monitor the tightness of the dressing: the limb can swell, and then the bandage will have to be constantly weakened;

    - the limb that was bitten by arachnid must be in an immovable state, while being located below the level of the baby's heart;

    4. If a bite has been produced in the neck or head - then you need to immediately press your finger with a forked place.

    5. It is necessary to arrange a child a copious drink, constantly to repack it with tea or plain water.

    6. Well, if you have stocked in advance with an antiallergic agent of general action - give it to the baby.

    7. If the condition of the child is extremely difficult, and medical assistance will not arrive, then an anti-inflammatory hormone must be administered to the baby within an hour after the bite.

    What can not be done? Do not apply a tourniquet, do not cut the bitten place, do not give the child something to eat, and even more so do not drink alcohol.

    Especially dangerous for a child is the bite of a karakurt - a two-centimeter black spider, on the belly of which there are several scarlet spots. A child can feel very little pain at a bite, however already in an hour the poison will make itself felt. The pain will increase, in addition, it will hit not only the place of the bite, but also the chest, abdomen, loin and even the muscles - most likely, the calves. The limbs will begin to grow numb, the child will feel the weakening of the muscles, dizziness. The general condition will become sluggish, weak.

    There is an unconfirmed opinion that the poison of this dangerous spider is destroyed under the influence of high temperatures, so if within the first 2 minutes after a bite of burning a place with a flame of lighters or matches - you can not be afraid of the action of the poison. However, we repeat: the opinion is not confirmed by scientists.

    The main thing: in nature you need to adhere to safety rules. Did you see the spider on yourself? Do not crush it, brush it off. Do not walk near the web, put mosquito nets on tents, use repellents, check clothes and shoes before putting them on. The hotter - the more aggressive spiders.
