How to draw shellac?

To begin with, we want to introduce some clarity into the concept of shellac. In fact, it's just a patented name for the famous brand of gel-lacquer. By its composition and technology of application, the product is practically no different from other manufacturers of gel-lacquer. Therefore, remember: shellac and gel-varnish are the same. The secrets of how to make pictures on shellac also apply to other brands of gel-varnishes.

How to draw shellac?

First of all, let's talk about how to draw shellac on nails covered by it. This method is perfect for those who do not have a special artistic talent, but want to quickly and easily decorate their nails with an original design.

Those who ever covered their nails with gel-lacquer know that after application and drying in a lamp on the shellac coating, a dispersion (sticky layer) remains. In this case, it is not necessary to wipe it, as it will serve as an excellent basis for smooth brush movement. From the tools you will need a brush-columns and dots.

Take care that the main color is in harmony with the shade of the picture. Very faded will look a combination of two light or dark colors. To obtain beautiful curls and patterns, first apply dot-dot the gel-lacquer point. Then pull the gel from the point in the direction you need.

It is worth considering that the consistency of gel-varnish is rather fluid and requires a certain skill for clear and beautiful application of strokes. Therefore, it will be superfluous to practice drawing shellac on plastic tips.

The finished drawing is dried in a UV lamp and we apply the fixing agent - finish for gel-varnish, after which we again dry a couple of minutes.

Can I paint with acrylic paints on shellac?

Unlike the shellac drawings, acrylic paint requires a fat-free surface. Therefore, after drying the main pigment coating of gel-varnish, it is necessary to remove the sticky layer with a special liquid or acetone.

Now you can start drawing. Take care that the colors are not too diluted with water, otherwise excess moisture will not allow the final product to dry well. In addition, try to take a small amount of paint on the brush, as the application of a thick layer is fraught with chips, the pattern may crack under the finish.

Do not try to paint on shellac with watercolor, gouache or simple nail polish - these materials are not compatible with the components of gel-varnishes, as a result you will simply spend your time and material.

We hope that these simple, but at the same time, important recommendations will help you create beautiful drawings on shellac.
