How to use mica for nail extensions

Mica, like no other material, is suitable for bulk nail extensions and creating a very effective multi-layer design in the "aquarium" style. Consider, for example, how to use mica for nail extensions. First of all, we prepare cosmetic mica for the procedure. It is sold in jars in "ladies" stores. You will also need a thin brush and gels (transparent, white, finish). For nail extensions, the length of the free edge should be at least 1-1.5 mm.

  1. With an orange stick you need to push the cuticle away.
  2. Slightly saw the surface of the natural nail and treat the nail with a degreaser.
  3. Further, the disposable form is placed under the free edge of the nail plate.
  4. On the natural nail is applied ultrabondeks. It is a liquid that allows mica and gel to adhere more firmly to the nail plate. It is necessary to apply ultra-NBD very carefully - that the liquid does not flow under the free edge of the nail and on the cuticle.
  5. Now a thin layer of the base gel is applied to the natural nail. To gel hardened (polymerized), a couple of minutes of nails must be heated under a special UV-lamp.
  6. On a disposable form is laid out a transparent gel, giving the nail the necessary length. Again, about 2-3 minutes, polymerize in a UV lamp.
  7. Then the form is removed from the finger. An additional layer of gel is applied to the free edge. Directly onto the gel, pieces of mica are laid out on the outside of the free edge of the nail. We do this carefully so that mica does not enter the area of the nail bed. Then we polymerize the processed nails in the UV lamp.
  8. After hardening of the previous layer, mica is covered with another layer of gel and polymerized. The thickness and shape of the voluminous nails is regulated by the number of layers of gel and mica.
  9. The dispersion layer is removed with a degreaser.
  10. The nail is sawed by an abrasive file with a grain size of 100/180. It can also be given the desired shape of the nail. Using the polishing nail file, the surface of the marigold is brought to an ideal condition. After grinding, the nail plate is degreased.
  11. A thin brush with the help of gels and various transparency and color forms a pattern on the nail plate. For design, you can use mica with various effects: transparent, translucent, with the effect of a chameleon, glitter, various color variations. After drawing the picture, do not forget to hold the marigold under the UV lamp. Otherwise, the picture will blur.
  12. At the end of nail extensions, they are covered with a thin layer of finish gel, which is also polymerized in a UV lamp. The dispersive layer is removed and the cuticle is moistened with oil. This concludes the work.
