Lawn in the country with their own hands

If you are too lazy to plant tomatoes and cucumbers in a dacha, but the green grass warms your soul, then at the very least, start a lawn! You think that it's impossible to plant a lawn in the dacha with your own hands, and it will bring you much trouble! You are ready to convince you!

Lawns have long ceased to be for us a simple piece of land with growing on it moose and dandelions along the road, the park. A new word of designers and breeders brought to this concept something new, airy and certainly original. Lawns have become a new word in our life, they give us cosiness and charming beauty. Lawn is now not only a part of the park culture, but it is also available for registration of plots in private houses, lawns, used in design solutions. There are several types of lawns: one-year-old Mauritanian, a park lawn with perennial grasses and a ground lawn, serving as background decoration for flower beds, plots in front of building facades, etc. But, despite their purpose and difference in the type of material being laid, for all lawns there are standard rules for laying the soil for subsequent seeding. For swampy terrain special work is required to divert water by ditches or with the help of small ponds.

The main advantage of lawns is the ability to maximally occupy an area that is not suitable for planting cultivated plants, for example, under trees, on uncomfortable parts of a garden or park. There are several types of lawns, depending on the purpose of the lawn, the selection of material and types of its breakdown. Herbs are planted in early spring in specially prepared soil.

Mauritanian lawn is an annual lawn, on which rapidly growing and annual flowering herbs are planted, the seeds of which are added to the lawn grass at the rate of 7-12 g of seeds per square meter of lawn, for example, cornflowers, echoltse, marigolds, poppies, In the future, the Moorish lawn is used as a classic green lawn.

For park lawn, it is not necessary to plant small greens, and larger grass will also fit, which is mowed as it grows.

Parterre lawn is the most demanding of all types of lawns, as it is intended as a background in the design of floral decoration in front of the facades of buildings, open plots. Grass for parterre lawn is selected taking into account the requirements for density, maximum growth, small-leavedness. The main requirements are the color of the lawn, mainly emerald green, constant growth and renewal of plants, from early spring to the first frosts. For this purpose, the lawn is planted with several kinds of plants, water-loving and drought-resistant, giving early growth and late ripening, which give permanent growth and preserve beautiful appearance of the lawn.

The freshness of the lawn is preserved by regular grass cutting, as it grows, while retaining its original shape with a tight cord.

In order to properly lay the lawn, you need a thorough preparation of the soil. To do this, in the areas chosen for the lawns, it is necessary to cut out the earth layers and lay them up, turning them again so that the top part is hidden in the ground. This is necessary to stop the growth of weed grass. At the next stage, the laid strata with the ground need to be loosened and pierced. The area of the lawn is planned taking into account the elevation in the middle of the site, if it is a separately allocated area, for lack of impression of soil failures.

If the soil chosen for the lawn is not well-groomed, poor in its mineral and organic composition, it is necessary to fertilize it with fertilizer after a planned lay-out and again to blast it. If the lawn is planned for many years, then to the soil, depending on its composition, sand is added for clay soil, and peat and clay to sandy soils. All work on the preparation of soil for lawns is better done in the autumn.

Grasses are sown almost immediately after the snow melts, from February to April or late autumn, depending on the terrain, in which case the soil should be well-fertilized and moistened to properly grow the grass.

Seed sowing is done along and across the site (crosswise) so that the seeds are more evenly distributed in the ground. The norm of sowing seeds is 1 kg per 100 sq. M. site. It is not enough that the seeds are simply buried in the ground, they are used for closing the rake, with which the earth's clod together with the seeds is turned and embedded deep into them, after which the closed area is compacted, for example by a roller, to eliminate air cavities that will prevent air and moisture from accessing soil.

The first shoots are necessarily weeded, and during the whole season this procedure is repeated as necessary, after growing the grass to a height of about 10 cm, make the first cut, leaving about 5 cm, for a greater density of the lawn, by branching the grass stand.

During the season on the lawn, the grass is cut regularly, depending on the condition of the soil and the growth of plants to a height of 5-10 cm, as poor grasses grow on poor soils, which creates an inaccurate and limp appearance of the lawn.

As the lawn grows, it is necessary to monitor the clarity of its lines, in time cutting, using a tight cord. Correctly planned lawn, a well-groomed lawn all season will please you with its beauty.
