The risk of a noble cause

Scientists have found a scientific explanation for the fact that most businessmen are men, and women, as a rule, do not like to risk money and do things very carefully, not wanting to lose what they already have. However, as you know, whoever does not take risks, he does not drink champagne and without big risk there is no big income.

It turns out that risking money makes men nothing more than a hormone testosterone - the most masculine of all the hormones produced in the human body.

In the course of the study, the researchers found that there is a directly proportional relationship between the content of testosterone in the blood and the degree of its propensity to financial risk.

In order to find out, the scientists organized an experiment involving 89 volunteer students aged 18 to 23 years. For them, a simulation of gambling for money was organized, during which young people were free to dispose of money as they pleased.

In this case, the participants in the experiment took saliva samples to assess the content of testosterone from the body. It turned out that those students whose saliva testosterone content was relatively high risked 12% more often than those who had the usual level of this hormone.

By the way, testosterone is produced not only in men, but also in women. In the female body testosterone is synthesized by the ovaries, transforming into cells of the ripening follicle into estrogens, and promotes the development of mammary glands. During pregnancy, its concentration in the body of a woman increases. However, the increased secretion of this hormone by the adrenal glands results in various disorders.
