Kurban-Bayram, as in previous years, in 2015 will be celebrated by Muslims for several days. The holiday will begin on September 24 . And the annual significant Muslim event will end on September 27.
In some online publications, you can find the wrong information: a number of media reported that Kurban-Bayram begins on September 23, but this is not entirely true. According to the lunar calendar, you can start celebrating on the 23rd day after sunset, but the reading of the festive prayers will begin on the early morning of September 24th.

Traditions of the holiday Kurban-Bairam were formed in the distant past. As the Koran says, one day one of the archangels, Jabrayil, came in a dream to the prophet Ibrahim and ordered him to sacrifice his son Ishmael. The prophet did not resist the command of the archangel and went to the valley to prepare everything for the sacrifice. Ismail knew about what awaited him, but nevertheless went to the valley to his father. As later understood by the father and son, Allah thus decided to test them. When Ibrahim swung at Ismail, the knife instantly became stupid. Soon the prophet was presented with a ram and the title "Friend of Allah".

What is the number in Moscow
Muslims will meet in the capital of Russia Kurban-Bayram in 39 mosques. The beginning of praying is at 7 am, including in the recently opened Cathedral Mosque (Mira Ave.) and in Shahada, on Poklonnaya Hill. In some mosques in Moscow, the celebration will be held a little later: for example, in a mosque located in Novokuznetsk, believers can attend prayer from 9 to 10 am.
What number begins in Kazan
In the capital of Tatarstan, the morning festive prayer will begin on September 24 at 6 am (half an hour after sunrise). The day is declared a day off. Public transport will start work from 4 am, so that Kazan residents do not have to worry about how to get to the mosques. With each of the 14 mosques in Kazan will open a playground for the ritual. In Kul Sharif, the celebration will be conducted by Mufti Kamil hazrat Samigullin. A live broadcast of the celebration in the mosque can be seen on the TV channel "TNV" (beginning from 05.30 am).

In the Republic of Dagestan, as well as in Chechnya, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia, the day of Kurban Bayram celebrations was also declared a non-working day.

As in many regions of the Russian Federation, in Uzbekistan the first day of Kurban Bairam will be a day off. The head of Uzbekistan instructed various public organizations and foundations to hold the celebration of Kurban khayit at the highest level.

The weekend in Turkey on Kurban Bayram will begin already on September 23 (the second half of the day) and will end on Sunday 27th.
