Three causes of drowsiness. How not to oversleep the disease?

Many scientists believe that yawning is a completely safe phenomenon, which also has great benefits for the human body. When yawning, the maximum opening of the airways and relaxation of the muscles occur, as a result of which the blood is saturated with oxygen, and the body itself falls into the "unconscious relaxation." Yawning can remove the effects of stress, mental overstrain and fatigue, improve brain function. But is yawn really safe? In some cases, it is the causeless yawning, which suddenly falls on a person in the afternoon, is the first sign of developing serious diseases - diabetes, apnea and even exfoliation of the aorta (in medical cardiosurgery). Diabetes mellitus and the title - what's the connection?
Excess weight is the main companion of type 2 diabetes. But why does yawning develop in people who suffer from diabetes? Yawning is a reflex, which, as a rule, manifests itself when there is a lack of nutrition in the brain. That is, a person inhales air with the help of yawn to saturate the brain with oxygen. When a person has diabetes mellitus, the blood glucose level is elevated, but it does not enter the brain.

In the cells of the body, glucose can only enter with the help of insulin - a special hormone of the pancreas. There, it is transformed into energy necessary for the vital activity of the organism. But with diabetes, there is a deficiency of insulin or a violation of the sensitivity of cells to it, resulting in glucose is not converted into energy. Thus, a person develops hellish fatigue, drowsiness.

To overcome the current situation, first of all, you need to lose weight, so that glucose gets into the cells, and does not destroy the blood vessels.

Increased fatigue and drowsiness due to apnea
The drowsiness that persists a person throughout the day can be a sign of an abruptive nocturnal apnea - stopping breathing in a dream, which results in a lack of oxygen. Most often, apnea occurs in full and elderly people, as well as in snoring, when at the height of snoring stops breathing, a person falls silent, then snores and starts to breathe again. In a certain phase of sleep, all the muscles of a person are relaxed, including the muscles of the soft palate and the tongue, as a result of which the latter may fall.

How to deal with apnea? First of all, you need to conduct a special examination in a dream, and if these breathing stops are found, the doctor will prescribe the treatment. There are many ways to combat this disease, ranging from appliances in which a person sleeps (these devices synchronously inject air), before surgery, which treat the stopping of breathing surgically. And, of course, you need to lose weight, because the total people have a much higher risk of this condition.

Aortic dissection
In cardiosurgical practice, there are often cases when the patient, lying on the operating table, starts to yawn without reason, and his drowsiness rises. This happens when a person undergoes a sharp decrease in pressure. Blood supply to the brain decreases, nerves that are in the chest or in the abdominal cavity are irritated and yawn. This may be a symptom of a very dangerous disease - a split aneurysm of the aorta, as a result of which the blood can completely escape from the bloodstream. This disease is dangerous in that it actually has no symptoms (only an experienced surgeon can react in time and provide the necessary assistance to the patient) and may result in death of a person.
