Betty Page

Legendary Betty Page at one time produced a sexual revolution in America, besides this she is known as Queen pin-up.

It was Betty who made the pin-up style so recognizable and popular all over the world. In American culture, this woman left a tangible mark. In the photos she looked sexy, restrained and did not go, was both a good-looking, and acted in a fetish style. Her erotic photographs in the 50s of the 20th century in America were every American at the house.

As you know, to become popular, enough to be born in a poor family, then go conquer the capital, conquer, achieve success, have many novels, but not be happy in your personal life and die preferably tragically in youth (that's such a recipe for popularity). Paige, in order to become popular, has fulfilled all the above listed points, although she died not tragically and already in old age.

Betty Page was born in an ordinary American family, but not rich. Up to 10 years she lived with her father. But he drank and beat her mother, in the end they divorced. Her mother had to provide six children on her own, so immediately after the divorce she gave her children to a boarding school for a year. All year she earned money and a year later took the children to her. Betty helped her mother to follow her brothers and sisters, she knew about sewing. The girl studied well and graduated with honors. Then I went to study for a teacher, but then changed my mind and decided to become an actress.

Officially, this woman was married 4 times, all her marriages lasted a short time, while she was twice married to her classmate.

Soon she married her classmate, who during the war began to serve in the Navy and then moved several times with him from place to place, until she was fed up and she divorced him, deciding to realize his acting dream. Betty moved to New York, where she worked as a secretary.

Once on the beach, she met a policeman who invited her to appear naked and she agreed. This policeman was called Jerry Tibbs, he was shooting in one of the famous New York photographers' clubs. Soon, Betty became a famous model in this club and her photos began to appear in well-known magazines: Wink, Titter, Eyefull and Beauty Parade. Jerry made her first portfolio in the style of pin-up. One of the most famous photoshoots of Betty is her photo session in the style of BDSM.

In 1955, her finest hour came, because she became the girl of the month in Playboy, her photo with Santa Claus moved to postcards and became the most popular adult postcard. Over the next few years, it was very popular in the American continent.

In 1957, at the height of her career against her, accusations were made that she was promoting pornography. At the age of 34, she decided not to act for magazines anymore, as she was carried away by religion. Paige became an avid activist of the Baptist community, moved to Florida and completely ripped all contacts with her past. In 1958, Betty marries, but after 5 years divorced.

In the 60's, she decided to go to Africa with a missionary activity from her Baptist community, but she was not allowed because she was divorced and Betty quickly married again. Married, she travels to Africa, but immediately after the end of her missionary activity on her return home, she dissolves her marriage with her third (first husband).

Already in the early 70's, she moved to Los Angeles. In 1979, she has a nervous breakdown and is hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. It was during this period in the US that they once again remember her, publishing her old photographs in magazines and discussing them at the same time. Until 1992, Paige was under the supervision of psychiatrists. From that time until the end of her life (December 6, 2008) she led a quiet lifestyle.
