Flowers Beloperone and Jacobinia: how to grow properly

There are flowers that please us from spring to autumn, while others, on the contrary - during the winter cold. But this plant has bypassed everyone, because with proper care it blooms almost all the year round. Flowers Beloperone and Jacobinia: how to grow them correctly and successfully transplanted? The homeland of the white liner is the American tropics. About 60 species of this plant are known in nature. The name beloperone translates as "the point of an arrow" (Greek: belos - "arrow", regope - "point"). Look at his bright orange flower: it looks like an arrow, does not it?

Care instructions
Beloperone is especially dear to me, as this is the first plant that appeared in my apartment. From him began my passion for flowers. I was recommended to him by a friend, explaining that for a beginner florist such a plant is just right - unpretentious, beautiful and always in bloom.
When choosing a place for a white bird, remember that this is a very light-loving plant. The whole year it should stand in a sunny and bright place, only in summer protection from direct sunlight is necessary. So it's best to place a pot with a white liner on the southern windows, a south-facing balcony will do. By the way, lighting affects the color of the bracts: in the shade they fade, and in bright illumination they are more saturated.

Humidity must be at least 80%. The plant can be placed on a pallet with raw pebbles. Spray the flower from time to time. In the summer, water abundantly, and in winter, reduce watering, as well as the temperature of the content (it should be at least 15 C).
Feed the white-spring from spring to autumn daily, and in winter rarely - about once a month.
As necessary, the plant needs to be transplanted. The substrate is prepared in this way: we take 2 pieces of leaf, 2 parts of turf, 1 part of peat land, 1 part of humus and 1 part of sand. If the white periper has grown strongly, the pot should be taken slightly more than the previous one.
It is possible to propagate a white perrier with seeds and cuttings. I prefer the latter - every spring I cut off the stubby cuttings. They are convenient to take when pruning, because the plant grew more decorative and better branched, every spring it must be severely cut. Cuttings root in a damp substratum, covering the box with a film. The temperature is maintained at least 20 C. If the rooting was successful, about a year later there will be flowers.

Our advice
If in winter white hopper suddenly drops leaves, it is possible that the cause is in temperature. Transfer the plant to a cooler place.
Watch out for the humidity of the air. If too much moisture, the beloperone may begin to fall off flowers - immediately stop watering.
If the stems are too lignified, the plant may not have enough light or too high a room temperature. Transfer the flower to another place.
If the leaves become sluggish and begin to fall off, check if there are spiders in the internodes and on the stems of the plant. If there is - it is a spider mite. Be sure to wipe the leaves and trunk with a soapy sponge, then rinse with warm water, for example with a shower. Do not forget to periodically spray the plant so that such pests do not settle on it.

Flower white whistle and Jacobinium: how to grow properly at home and at room temperature? If you have purchased seeds, do not delay with planting, as they quickly lose their germination. Before planting the seeds, it is advisable to prepare them: remove them from the arillus - orange fluff, which is formed at the end of the seed, you can also slightly remove the upper peel from the nail file, after which it is necessary to soak seeds for 48 hours in hot water (30-40 ° C) with the addition of fertilizer (5-10 drops).
Done? Now you can start landing. Shallow the seeds in a moist mixture of soil and coarse sand (1: 2). We plant it so that a small part of the seed remains visible on the surface. While the seeds germinate, we follow that the substrate remains moist and the temperature is about 25 ° C. The seeds germinate from a month to a year, but most often from 4 to 8 months. As soon as there are three leaves on the shoots, arrange them in separate pots. Growing in this way, the strelitzia will blossom in about four years.

Learn a better new friend
I want to give some tips on what you need to pay attention to, if you decide to start a plant you do not know before.
Find out what kind of lighting suits your new green friend. After all, not all plants like the sun and bright light. Some, on the contrary, prefer a shadow or a north face. But even on the sunny south side you often need to shade from direct sunlight. Given the characteristics of the plant, determine in advance its place in the house.
The temperature of the plant's content is important. Some like coolness, others, on the contrary, are warm. Most often in different periods of plant growth, the temperature of its content also changes. The majority in the winter period begins rest and they need coolness. But not all.

Pay attention to this!
Learn more about the features of watering, soil composition, fertilizing. Most plants from excessive watering can root roots, develop diseases, and from dryness they begin to wilt. Again, many, but not all! Others, on the contrary, prefer dryness or excessive humidity. Soil composition is also important. Some plants are more suitable, for example, acid soil. And before you feed the plants, find out what type of fertilizer is best for them, as well as the periods when it is necessary to make fertilizing. So, seeing a beautiful flower on the package, do not rush to carry it to the house immediately. Study first the features of caring for it.

We grow the Jacobin beautifully
The Jacobin has such a feature - it refuses to release shoots until it reaches its maximum height.
And she grows up at home to 1.5 meters! Who does not want to change its natural desire and make it bush? But there is such a way! As soon as the stem of the Jacobinia took root and went into growth, we must immediately begin to form the crown of this beauty. The first pruning I do at an altitude of 10-15 cm, and when lateral shoots start to develop, I pull out a third pair of leaves. And so I act as I grow with each process. During the first year, only about four scraps come out. Then I wait for winter, and in spring I continue: pruning, then pricking, etc. This is how the bush grows more and more splendid from year to year, giving more and more shoots. And when they are all covered with flowers - the beauty is indescribable!

A pot is not a simple decoration!
Not so long ago a friend came to me with a question about which pot best to transplant the plant. He was presented to her, and she was going to make a transplant for the first time.
I think that such a question - which one to choose the dishes for a flower - arises in many. I'll give you some useful tips.
Pay attention to the walls of the pot. They should be smooth and smooth, without hollows and unevennesses. Agree, from such a pot it is much easier to remove a plant during transplantation, especially if the earth's root is intertwined with roots.
The material from which the pot is made is also important. From the properties of the material, the feature of plant watering may depend. For example, pots of well-burnt clay are porous and have good air permeability, unlike metallic or porcelain ones. The most suitable size of the pot - when the width of the upper hole coincides with its height, and the bottom is not too narrow. But if the pot is made of a non-porous material (metal, porcelain, pressed paper), the top of the pot should be larger than the height. It is very important to have a drainage hole, and if the pot is large, there may be several.
