Factors provoking the onset of the disease

Symptoms of encephalopathy

The earliest sign of a progressive disease is absent-mindedness, memory impairment and inhibited coordination of movements. The patient begins to suffer from sleep disorders, lethargy and rapid fatigue.
Further, depending on the provocative cause, other mental abnormalities develop. For example, in hepatitis, a person loses the ability to draw simple geometric shapes. With alcoholism, a person begins to fail in memory, the vocabulary becomes more scarce.
But still there is a list of the main symptoms of this disease, they can include: apathy, visual impairment, dementia, convulsive spasms, trembling, coma.
The acute course of the disease manifests itself as a sudden headache, severe dizziness, nausea and vomiting, darkening in the eyes. Often, there is a speech disorder, numbness of the fingers and toes, tongue, lips and nose.
Treatment of encephalopathy
To suppress the progression of the disease, first of all, it is necessary to eliminate the disorder that caused the onset of brain damage.
To reduce and suppress the symptoms that arise in acute encephalopathy, the following methods are used:
- Artificial oxygen ventilation;
- Parenteral nutrition;
- To reduce intracranial pressure and eliminate seizures, prescribe vasodilators and diuretics;
- To improve cerebral circulation, Cavinton, glycine, nitinic acid or other angioprotectants are prescribed.
- As an auxiliary therapy, acupuncture, exercise therapy, special breathing exercises are applicable.
Treatment of mild encephalopathy is prescribed by the doctor on the basis of the degree of damage that caused the disease and a number of other factors. As a rule, prescribe medication, head and collar massage, physiotherapy.
