How to calculate excess weight?

Very often girls sit on diets, exhaust themselves on the simulators, limit themselves to eating in the evenings, and the weight does not go away. And the reason can be that this weight is not superfluous. There are several methods for determining the presence of excess weight.

Fold on the belly

This method is the simplest and at the same time very accurate. To calculate excess excess weight it is possible on a crease on a stomach. For a woman, a fold of two or four centimeters is the norm. For men, the rate is slightly less - one to two centimeters. You can talk about obesity, if the fold on the stomach will be five centimeters or more. This test, however, does not allow you to determine how much it costs to throw a person a kilogram. On the fold, you can only take note of the fact that it's time to take up your body.

Metabolism

People who have a reduced metabolism can use the method invented by Barbara Edelstein to determine the required weight. This method is suitable for those people who have a small piece of dessert leading to an increase in weight, that is, the body does not want to burn calories urgently.

The first step is to determine the weight that would have been under normal metabolism. This is quite easy: to 45 kilograms should be added one kilogram for every centimeter of growth, which exceeds 150 centimeters. In addition, you should add another half kilogram for each year, if the age exceeds 25 years, but in general it is necessary to add not more than seven kilograms. To the received figure add still from 4,5 to 7 kgs (these are those kgs which can be at the person), plus from 4 till 7 kg if the weight of the person exceeds 90 kg. If the weight is more than 100 kilograms, then a few more kilograms should be added.

This method allows you to determine your "best" weight, while you can see the weight limit, after which the body can fail and the person will develop a brutal appetite. This moment comes when the human body wants to "take" its own right. This method is more suitable for people who are full from birth.

The Brock Formula

When calculating the ideal weight in this case, three indicators are used: the weight and height of a person, as well as his age. The first two components are easy to understand: the higher the growth, the greater the weight. Age, however, affects the same way: the older the age, the greater the mass. This pattern is quite natural. The formula for people under the age of forty is as follows: from the growth expressed in centimeters, it is necessary to subtract 110 - this will be the ideal weight. For people over forty, the formula is similar: it is necessary to subtract 100, not 110. The next version of the formula takes into account growth: for people below 165 centimeters, 100 should be subtracted, with an increase of 166 to 175 centimeters, 105 should be taken away, and 110 However, it is worth considering the composition. With a lean physique, for the so-called asthenics, 10% of the amount received is taken away. For hypersthenics, 10% is added to the result.

However, all these results are still approximate, and it is only the specialist who can tell about the number of extra kilograms.

Body mass index

Calculation of this indicator is made by the following formula: the weight expressed in kilograms should be divided into a square of growth, expressed in centimeters. This indicator is the most popular and most commonly used. However, the criterion for assessing the norm varies.

The most common rule is the index, equal to 24.9.

According to Michel Montignac, the rate is slightly stricter: the index rate is from 20 to 23. If the index is from 24 to 29, then there is excess weight. With an index of 30 or more, it is about obesity.

The most democratic norm of the body mass index is used by insurance companies in the USA. People with an index of less than 30 can not worry - they are all right, it is just more to move. If the index is from 30 to 40, then it's worth thinking about a diet. To sound the alarm costs or stands at an index 40 and more, in this case it is necessary to address to the endocrinologist.
