Quite a common problem, nerve-wracking almost every hostess - settled in the croup of bugs. Insects spoil food and mood, and, worst of all, can pose a serious danger to the residents of the house. Therefore, having found out in the supplies signs of superfluous tenants, do not postpone struggle against them for then.
Who can get into different types of cereals?
Feeding animals is good only if this happens on your initiative. If, on the other hand, you were to eat cereals, you saw that they already eat it without demand, you can act without declaration of war. Identify the enemy according to tastes:- Pearl barley, semolina, flour and oatmeal prefer the Surinamese fries. Small beetles of dark brown or black color, perhaps with specks on the wings, multiply rapidly and in warm conditions give offspring up to 6 times a year with a lifespan of 3 years.
- Buckwheat as a favorite treat is chosen by a few beetles, but if, along with the rest of the cereal, someone eats and it - in front of you probably a granary weevil. This dark brown little beetle is easily recognized by a noticeable proboscis. Offspring gives from two to six times a year.
- Rice, as the name suggests, loves rice weevil most of all. In this case, the smallest eggs, he can save in any dry supplies, rapidly multiplying in good conditions.
- An omnivorous unwelcome guest is a food moth. You will not confuse it with any other insect, because it does not hesitate to take off for walks, and differs from beetles. Pale butterflies up to 0.5-1 cm long will fly in the closet and throughout the kitchen.
Signs of the fact that someone has settled in the croup
To determine that bugs are bred, preferably as early as possible, until they have bred and spoiled your dishes. Carefully consider the stocks for obvious signs:- cereals, flour, dried fruits and spices were crumpled;
- supplies are moving;
- The bugs creep on the shelves of the cabinet;
- in the closet or in the kitchen there is a moth;
- the package is damaged, as if gnawed.
How to get rid of bugs in the croup?
Fighting insects in cereals involves only strict measures, because even a few eggs of these surviving beetles will negate all actions, and insects will multiply again after a while. Therefore:- First of all, determine the contaminated supplies and take them to the trash can.
- If you throw away cereals, flour, tea and other pity, you can disinfect them in one of two ways:
- • Bake croup in the oven for a while, then rinse thoroughly and dry it;
- • leave the groats for at least a night in the freezer or on the balcony, if the frost is outside the window.
Note!
High-temperature treatment is several times more effective, because some insects can withstand several cycles of freezing-defrosting and not only remain alive, but also be able to reproduce. - Uninfected and processed cereals pour into plastic and glass containers with twisting lids.
- Superfluous packages, papers and labels should be thrown away.
- All shelves, joints between them, corners and slots in the cabinet need to be treated with a solution of laundry soap or acetic acid, because parasites often lay smallest eggs in hard-to-reach places - crevices, cracks, depressions.
Preventing the appearance of bugs in the croup
Insects living in croups can not originate in a clean closed kitchen by themselves, so it is important to understand where they come from. If the dry products were not properly stored in the warehouse, they could have beetles at any stage of production, transportation and sale.- Choose cereals in a transparent package and look at them for lumps;
- try not to buy such products for future use;
- Store loose products in glass or plastic containers with screw caps;
- Use for spoiling insects spices, which they do not like: bay leaves, cloves, cloves of garlic;
- regularly clean the cabinet with supplies and inspect the groats for signs of insects.
