How to make a pedicure at home

Every woman dreams that her feet and heels look well-groomed. Many believe that the desired result can be achieved only in the beauty salon. We hasten to assure you that this is far from the case, and it is possible to make your feet beautiful, soft and well-groomed on your own, but you need to regularly perform necessary procedures and additional daily skin care for your feet. Therefore, in this article we will talk about how to do a pedicure at home.

A full pedicure can be done no more often than once or twice a month. In this case, two to three times a week, you should clean your feet with scrub or pumice. Daily lubrication of the foot skin with a special cream or foot oil will help to keep it soft. Before a full pedicure session, you should wash your feet and remove the nail polish.

Steaming

To prepare the feet for the home foot pedicure, a warm bath is prepared. To the procedure brought additional benefit to the tray, you can add herbal infusions of chamomile, marigold or linden flowers. With increased perspiration of the legs, you can add an oak bark infusion, but remember that such a decoction will make the skin of the foot slightly darkened. Addition of sea salt will help to speed up the healing of scuffs and various cracks in the skin of the feet. The steaming should last for 15 minutes, and the feet on the ankles should be immersed in the bath. With a very coarse skin, a small amount of food starch can be added to the water, and the treatment time can be increased to 20 minutes.

Removing coarse skin

After the expiration of the steaming time, one leg should be removed from the bath, and the other should be left in the water for the time being. The foot is wiped dry, after which the heels are treated with either pumice stone, or a metal brush, or a brush with fine-grained pumice, depending on the degree of roughness of the skin. Also on the brush, you can apply a small amount of leg scrub and rub the coarsened areas in a circular motion. Handle not only the foot itself, but every single finger. Do not overdo it so as not to injure the skin. When you finish with one foot, do the same procedure on the other.

Nail treatment

Nails on the legs should be cut in a straight line. Particular attention should be paid to the nails on the thumbs, as too rounded edges of the nail can lead to its ingrowth, and often only a specialist can cope with this serious problem. The corners of the nails are filed with a nail file, trying to keep their shape close to the square, which also helps prevent ingrowth. Fing nails need in one direction - from their edge to the center. This will help prevent their delamination. If the surface of the nail plate is uneven and there are rough grooves, then it can be ground using a special block of polyethylene foam (buffa), which is of different abrasiveness and will help smooth the surface of the nail. To avoid damage to the nail, the buff is selected with the least abrasiveness, and the procedure itself is carried out very carefully.

The peel, which is located around the nails, is lubricated with a special cream or cuticle oil. Then cut the cuticle with a wooden stick. Since the cuticle itself serves to protect the nail from the penetration of infection or fungus, it is not recommended to cut it.

We cover nails with varnish

Then the nails should be covered with protective or colored varnish. If there are any irregularities on the nails, then after the application of the varnish they can become more noticeable, so first you can apply a base under the lacquer, this will help to level the surface of the nail. In addition, the base under the varnish will prevent the yellowness of the nails. Apply the varnish in two layers, and apply a third layer of fixer, which will help the varnish last much longer. For a neat application of the varnish, you can use a special finger separator.

Application of cream

The final stage of the home pedicure is applying a softening cream to the skin. If the appearance of your soles still does not suit you, you can try oily wraps. Warm oil (olive oil or specially designed for the skin care of the feet) causes a skin on the skin, wrapped with a bandage, plastic bags and warm socks are put on their feet. The entire wrapping procedure takes about 30 minutes. After that, the oil should be washed off with warm water, rinsed cold and dryed dry, paying special attention to the areas located between the fingers. Three or four wrapping procedures and the skin of your legs will become soft and will get a well-groomed appearance.
