Modern methods of infertility treatment

Most couples dream of children. But sometimes one word can cross out all plans. However, do not lose hope: modern medicine is sure - infertility can be cured. Modern methods of treating infertility are suitable for many.

In June of this year, at the 26th Annual Congress of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) Merck Serono, the pharmaceutical division of the international company Merck, published the results of the largest sociological survey "Family and infertility problems", in which more than 10,000 men and women from 18 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Turkey, Britain and the USA. At the moment, infertility is one of the serious and pressing problems of the modern family. Currently, it touched about 9% of pairs. The reasons can be different. In women, infertility is most often caused by a violation of ovulation or patency of the fallopian tubes and endometriosis. In men, the main problem is the inadequate production of spermatozoa and a decrease in their mobility. The most common causes of male infertility include post-pubescent mumps, serious testicle trauma or diabetes. As a rule, after hearing the diagnosis of "infertility", potential parents fall into depression and lose hope. This is explained by the fact that childless couples are poorly informed both about the problem itself and about the ways of its treatment. "We will pay attention to couples wishing to have a child or undergoing treatment for infertility, to their lack of awareness in this matter [infertility]," said Feredun Firuz, the head of the Merck Serono department on infertility issues. We hope that our research will contribute to understanding of current problems of infertility by all interested parties and will give them the opportunity to provide the necessary assistance. "

It should be noted that the mass media, according to respondents in the study "Family and infertility problems", are not a useful and qualitative source of information on the problem of infertility. People are more likely to trust professionals and Internet sites. Infertility is primarily a psychological problem: because of the embarrassment and embarrassment, only 56% of childless couples turn to specialists for treatment, and only 22% believe in themselves and complete the course. Faced with this problem, it is important to remember that modern medicine is actively working towards family problems and there are many effective methods of treating infertility. And most importantly - do not lose hope. After all, according to a recent Danish study, 69.4% of the treated couples managed to have at least one child in five years. Who said that you do not enter these 69%? Infertility is a problem of our time, and for its treatment it is necessary to exert maximum efforts.
