Powder - the right choice and application

For a long time, even and white skin was considered the first sign of refined femininity. Powder was invented even in Ancient Egypt, and Greeks of the heyday of Hellas were already powdered with leaden whites. At different times and different nations, red and yellow ocher, a mix of bean and wheat flour, white clay and even crocodile excrement were used as a powder.

Why do I need powder? Our skin constantly emits natural fat. The powder helps to fight with greasy sheen and provides the skin with dullness and velvety, while refreshing the face. In addition, the use of powder will help you successfully mask small wrinkles. If you use a foundation, then it must be fixed so that it does not "blur". Powder perfectly copes with this task, providing make-up greater durability. And if you do not use makeup at all - it does not matter! Powder itself, even outside of the neighborhood with foundation and rouge, gives the skin a well-groomed appearance.

Blush and shades are much more convenient to put on top of the powder than without it: and the brush slides better, and the paint falls more smoothly. The powder will also help if suddenly applied blush or eye shadow look too flashy. It is only necessary to walk a little over the cheekbones or eyelids with a puff, as the colors soften, and the transitions between them become less noticeable.

That is why on the pages of MirSovetov we decided to tell everything about powder: what it is and how to apply it properly.

What kind of powder?

Modern powder - a complex mixture of natural kaolin, calcium carbonate, talc and ground silk, as well as various nutritional supplements - exists in two main variations: crumbly and compact.

Friable powder evenly falls and is finely divided, completely mixing with a voice-frequency cream. Unfortunately, friable powder can not be defied with a cosmetic bag, so it is better to use it in the process of applying the main make-up, just before you leave the house.

Compact powder, on the contrary, is a permanent inhabitant of a woman's handbag, always ready to help out, if suddenly in the office or on a visit your face shone. By the way, thanks to the high content of fat, it is ideal for dry skin.

Terracotta powder containing grinded healing mud is an alternative to eye shadows or blushes of a rich tint. She perfectly emphasizes the contours of her face, but alas! - does not look at all on the pale and unflinted skin.

Another type of powder is liquid powder-cream, which is ideal for dry and normal skin. Owners of oily skin, on the contrary, with liquid powder, it is better not to experiment, since it will even more sharply reveal all the existing flaws.

By the way, those whose skin is not ideal, can help the green powder, just designed to mask skin imperfections: pimples, erupted veins, red spots. Green powder is applied point-by-point, only to those places that need to be hidden, and necessarily put a layer of powdered skin on top.

There is also a powder in the form of colored balls. This powder has the effect of light reflection and thanks to it helps to give the skin a special freshness, but it should be applied very transparently.

If you're going to a party , select the shimmering powder. Golden or silver particles contained in such powder, with artificial lighting give the skin a mysterious flicker. Is it worth reminding that in the light of day the shimmering powder on the face does not look natural, like any evening make-up? And yet, the shimmering powder is applied to cheekbones, temples, hands, décolleté area, but not in the middle of the face.

Powder is also used for medical purposes. So, antiseptic powder contains various antibacterial and anti-inflammatory additives. Applied with the help of sterile cotton wool, this powder quickly calms the inflamed skin of the face. The main thing is not to use antiseptic powder for normal or dry skin, otherwise you can only hurt yourself.

How to choose the right shade of powder?

If you do not use a foundation, only focus on your natural skin color, and if you constantly use a foundation cream, you will also be on it. It should be borne in mind that a compact powder makes the skin's natural shade slightly darker. Ideally, the color of the powder should match the color of the skin and foundation; however, if suddenly the powder turns out to be a little lighter, there is nothing terrible in this.

The simplest choice is to acquire a colorless powder that will suit almost any shade of the skin or foundation. However, it should be remembered that a swarthy or tanned skin colorless powder is able to give a greyish shade. So, if you just returned from the south or visit the solarium, the best option for you is a toned powder of brownish tones. If, on the contrary, you have not yet had time to get tanned, then bypass the side with pink tones - they will make the pale complexion unnatural.

How to apply the powder?

To begin with, it is advisable to wait until the day and foundation cream is absorbed to the end, otherwise the powder will lie unevenly, and the skin will look spotty.

Powder is best applied with a thick brush or puff, and it is better to use both at the same time.

On the cheekbones and the side of the face, the powder is applied with a brush. At the same time, the excess powder found on the brush can simply be blown off or shaken off. Once a week, the brush should be washed in warm water with shampoo and dried well in a warm place, only not under direct sunlight. By means of a down jacket powder is put on the central part of the face (a forehead, a nose and a chin). After picking up the powder with a puff, first press it to the back of the palm - so you press the powder into the puff. And only now, gently, slowly, with light circular touches, generously apply powder to your face.

While powdering, always pay special attention to the central part of the face, where the sweat and sebaceous glands are densely located, so that the powder should be applied especially carefully. If, suddenly, in the middle of the day you notice a fat shine on the nose or chin, do not rush to get a powder box right away. First you need to get rid of greasy shine, for example, with a paper napkin, and only then gradually powder sensitive areas. A little secret: if you put the powder on your eyelids and lips, the eye shadow and lipstick will last much longer. If you, having previously powdered your eyelashes, then cover them with ink, then the eyelashes will appear thicker.

And finally, MirSovetov recalls that one should not use powder longer than the expiration date - 3 years. And also it is not necessary to buy powder if on its packing there is no information about where, by whom and when it is made, and the list of its ingredients is not specified. If you buy a compact powder, make sure that the powder box is comfortable, easy to open and securely closed, and also necessarily had a small mirror. And yet, a good powder should in no case create a "plaster effect" on the skin. If this is so, then it is better to replace it with a better option, which lies on the face exactly, exactly the second skin. Only then will your art always look attractive, reach perfection.
