Symptoms of cancer.
Any type of tumor is an uncontrollable increase in the number of cells of a given tissue. The cells are identical to the cells of the tissue from which they originated - the tumor is benign; with a significant difference (atypical cells) - malignant. Undifferentiated cells, similar in appearance to embryonic (the first identical cells of the embryo) are especially dangerous tumors.
With an increase in the number of tumor cells, nutrients are absorbed. It is the fight with cells of healthy tissues for nutrients and leads to a disruption of metabolism (symptoms: malaise, weakness, weight loss).
Since cancer cells need glucose (for metabolic processes - a source of energy), cancer has the most negative effect on carbohydrate metabolism. In normal cells, the cells of the tumor take glucose, which causes protein and fat metabolism, which requires a sufficient amount of energy to perform.
Nutrition for cancer.
Diet in cancer - is the use of products, when used, the growth of the tumor is suppressed. Products, the tumor-stimulating process, should be excluded.
In order to normalize the carbohydrate metabolism, carbohydrates should enter the body constantly and slowly. Traditionally, the source for these carbohydrates is considered to be cereals, coarse bread, vegetables. All these products, in addition to complex carbohydrates, contain a lot of fiber that is excreted from the body in an unchanged form, but thanks to which the intestines are cleansed. From the organism of a cancer patient, along with feces, metabolic products are withdrawn, which could be reabsorbed into the blood, poisoning the body even more.
Conversely, easily digestible carbohydrates (buns, sweets) in this disease can stimulate tumor growth, because the tumor cells quickly capture them and are used to provide energy for the process of cell division. On the basis of this, it is necessary to exclude all sweets from the diet of a cancer patient. Berries and fruits (especially sweet, containing simple substances in a rather large amount), on the contrary, contain additional biological substances that suppress the growth of the tumor. Despite this, to choose a better food savory varieties of berries and fruits.
For life, the human body needs proteins, such as in chicken, cottage cheese, fermented milk products, low-fat fish. It is recommended to eat as little as possible (one to two meals a week) of red meat (such as beef), especially fatty varieties. This meat enhances the production of a hormone, the so-called insulin, which helps tissues absorb glucose, which increases the growth rate of the tumor. However, fats, but dominantly plant, are simply necessary in the diet to stimulate metabolic processes in the body of a cancer patient.
Recommendations for nutrition for cancer patients.
People with this type of disease should try to adhere to the following rules:
- Take food five to six times a day in small portions to avoid overeating, contributing to "feeding" the tumor.
- Remove from the daily meal of salty, smoked, fried, canned and spicy dishes; sweet fizzy drinks and sweets, including dough products from dough; categorically exclude alcoholic beverages, strong coffee and tea.
- Meat used steamed or boiled, and red meat is certainly lean and no more than 2 two times per week.
- 1-2 times a week you can eat fish of low-fat varieties, but only in a stewed or boiled form.
- You need to eat 400-500 grams of vegetables a day, preferably some of them fresh. People who do not tolerate fresh vegetables in large quantities can be eaten with stews, boiled or steamed.
- Fruit is better than unsweetened varieties, you can eat an orange a day, a handful of berries (strawberries, raspberries, currants), an apple.
- To stimulate metabolism, you can drink a glass of freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice on an empty stomach.
- It is necessary to have breakfast with various porridges, mainly buckwheat, oatmeal and rice.
- Only freshly prepared food is needed, because carcinogenic substances are formed in dishes that have lain in the refrigerator.
- When making a decision to start taking food supplements or vitamins, you need to consult a doctor - the benefits of them may not be for all patients.
Cancer is a very serious disease, in the treatment of which you need to use all sorts of ways, including proper nutrition.
