The first animals of the country: How many pets do Vladimir Putin have

Vladimir Putin is a famous lover of the animal world. The Internet is replete with his photos with different living creatures: from chicken to tiger. And what kind of domestic animals were lucky enough to live in the President's estate?

The main Labrador of the country

Black Labrador Connie Polgrave (or Koni) deservedly wore the title of "The First Dog of Russia". The python has his own page in Wikipedia, her image appears in the comics of the magazine Ogonek, but the real sensation was the literary activity of the four-legged guard of the president. On behalf of the pet, the book "Tells Kony" is written, where the life of Vladimir Vladimirovich is presented through the eyes of a dog. Naturally, after the appearance of Koni in the president's family, black labradors gained unprecedented popularity among Russians.

A little later, Koni distinguished herself by starting to give birth on the night before the parliamentary elections, which provoked the delay of the Putin's couple to the polling station. Puppies of the beloved dog the president has entrusted into reliable hands. One of the dogs was transferred to the resident of the Rostov region Alexei Belevets, another helps the rescue team, and the last puppy from the brood is brought up by schoolgirl Katya Sergeenko, born in Smolensk.

Connie has a lot of funny stories. For example, once during an official meeting the dog pulled off the goodies from the table behind the back of the buffet table. And one youth organization nominated a Labrador for the candidacy of Vladimir Vladimirovich's successor in the presidential elections. The dog scored more votes than some "real" candidates. In 2007, residents of St. Petersburg took the initiative to put in the yard a monument to the black Labrador of the President. Recently, the idea was embodied in reality.

In 2000, Vladimir Vladimirovich Labrador was presented by the then minister of the Ministry of Emergency Measures. Starting in 2014, the horses stopped seeing in public, and journalists assumed that the dog died of old age.

The Bulgarian defender

The official visit of Vladimir Putin to Sofia in 2010 was a pleasant surprise - the Bulgarian Prime Minister gave a colleague a puppy of the Bulgarian Shepherd (they are also called Karachan dogs).

Puppy so fascinated Vladimir Vladimirovich, that he immediately embraced him and kissed him. On the choice of the name of the dog, a contest was announced. Among the thousands of proposed nicknames stopped at Buffy. It was invented by a young Muscovite Sokolov Dima. The then head of government soon invited the boy to his home in Novo-Ogaryovo, where he introduced the sheepdog.

Putin also said that Koni reacted positively to the new friend and even allows the baby to ruffle himself by the ears. No one was surprised when Buffy became the hero of the song "Just give the puppy's premiere", which was performed by the leading Avtoradio.

Foreigner by origin, Russian woman by fact

The third dog in the Putin's house was the Japanese beauty Yume (which translates as "Dream"). Yume, belonging to the Akita-well breed, embodies the gratitude of the Japanese authorities for the assistance of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia in eliminating the consequences of the monstrous earthquake and tsunami in 2011. The breed gained fame after the release of the soulful film "Hatiko".

In 2013, one-year-old Yume and significantly grown up Buffy became participants in the photo session with Vladimir Vladimirovich. Like Koni, Yume often accompanied the president at official meetings, and in 2016 during an interview with the Japanese, the dog became a real highlight of the program.

Small receiver

Most recently, in early October 2017, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, at a meeting in Sochi, presented the Russian president with an Alabai puppy or, as it is also called, a wolfhound. Putin was so touched that he pressed the baby to his chest and kissed him. It seems that the presidential residence will be replenished with one more pet. Earlier we wrote about the scandal among the users of the Network, which flared up because of the puppy given to Putin - here.

Toothed and dangerous

Some time in the residence of Novo-Ogaryovo lived a real tigress. A small Ussuri tiger cub in 2008 was presented to the head of state for his birthday. After a time, the already grown-up tigress Masha was transferred to the Gelendzhik zoo. The President noted that Masha is the most unusual gift in his life.

But the leopards donated by the President of Turkmenistan in 2009 did not stay in the Putin's residence at all - they were immediately transferred to the zoo.

Artiodactyls

In 2003, Yuri Luzhkov, who at that time held the post of mayor of Moscow, presented a symbolic gift to Putin in honor of the coming year of Goat. A nice white goat, Vladimir Vladimirovich called Tale.

And on the territory of Putin's residence walks paddling Vadik. The head of Tatarstan presented the mini-horse to the president. The horse is really small: only 57 centimeters at the withers. But a lot of stories are connected with it. In particular, the pony allegedly originally wore the nickname Chip. Then it was transformed into Seeds, and as a result, with the easy submission of ex-wife Lyudmila Alexandrovna miniature horse began to call Vadik. There were rumors that in Putin's residence Vadik was called either a groom or an aide-de-camp, and the ponies were renamed again. For the journalists, the animal was still Vadik.

Guild of horses

Vladimir Vladimirovich's passion for riding is not new. And every high-ranking official, on the eve of the meeting with Putin, remembers this fact and presents the head of the state with another thoroughbred steed.

In 2000, Putin first presented the Oryol trotter. The next year the stable was replenished with a stallion of the Akhal-Teke breed Nagar. In 2002, the ruler of Jordan made the Russian president really a royal gift: three Arabian horses worth several million dollars. From such a generous presentation had to be abandoned. In Nalchik, Putin was presented with a horse named Kazbich, and the head of Kirghizia presented a stallion of a new breed named Gyulsary.

The Russian president once admitted that he rarely rides horses, and during horse races he often fell from horses, "flying over his head". Not all horses were left to live in the manor of the president. Some were sent under the supervision of specialists, others were given to the racetrack. But several horses, according to the assurance of the President's entourage, are a company of Vadik in the stables Novo-Ogaryovo.
