14 animated cartoons took to the Oscar trail

It's time to make a list of cartoons that will compete for the title of "Best full-length animated film" in the Oscar. According to oKino.ua, this year 14 tapes will defend their right to the coveted award in 2009.

The leaders of the race, of course, is VALL-I, whose rivals are Madagascar 2, Kung Fu Panda, Waltz with Bashir, The Despereaux Adventures, Horton, Volt, Delgo , "Fly on the Moon", "Igor", "Dragons Hunters", "$ 9.99", "Heavenly slow ships" and "Sword of the Stranger".

Of these fourteen films, only three will be nominated for an Oscar on January 22.

Some of the animated ones do not even have a chance to appear even in the semifinals, and they really do not dream of being named the winner in the solemn hall on February 22.

"Waltz with Bashir", for example, is a very serious dramatic work, like "Persepolis", but it is unlikely to overtake "Kung Fu Panda". In any case, each candidate will be carefully weighed by all academicians, and the most worthy will win. In 2008, the title of "Best full-length animated film" won the Brad Bird cartoon "Ratatouille".
