Veniamin was born on the tenth of August 1940. So, his biography began a year before the war. Fortunately, the actor lived in Moscow, therefore, the tragedy of military operations did not touch him too much. Laughter grew in the family of intelligent people. His father's biography is the history of a professor of economic sciences. While the guy's mom was a doctor-therapist. When Benjamin was a two-year-old baby, they were evacuated with his mother to the Kazan region. At that time, by the way, she was not yet a certified doctor. Therefore, when they returned to Moscow, and this happened in two years, my mother went to study, and Smekhov was in the kindergarten. There the future actor was from morning till night, because, my mother had a lot to learn. Veniamin notes that his biography has developed this way, in many ways, thanks to his parents. They taught the guy to do, not just talk. Benjamin always admired his mother. For him, she always remained an example of honor and valor. This is not surprising, because Maria has managed to do everything, and very high quality and good. She worked for two stakes in the hospital, was at home, and also wrote articles. However, Smekhov's father also worked constantly. For a long time he did not take weekends and holidays. The actor's parents really were an example of perseverance and diligence. They lived in a small apartment, an area of sixteen meters. This house went to his father, as a graduate economist.
Childhood Smekhova.
If we talk about whether he wanted to be an actor from the very childhood, then it is difficult to answer this question. First, initially, he generally did not see in himself any special talents and ambitions. He just wanted to become a chauffeur. But, when the boy learned to write, he began to create his children's, but very beautiful and sensitive novels. True, the Soviet ideology on them was clearly reflected, because, laughing, at that age, like many children, perceived everything that was imposed on him by politicians. But, nevertheless, his stories were kind and bright. When Smekhov studied at school, he began to go to a drama club that worked at the Palace of Pioneers. There the young man took part in the skits. He was very fond of literature and poetry, therefore, with pleasure, recited poems, played the role of Onegin. Then, in Smekhov, love for music also awoke. He wanted to play in a band and he put together his own jazz band. That's when it became clear that the young man really likes to perform on stage in front of the public. By the way, in life, Smekhov was always a fairly right and obedient boy. He almost never allowed himself to do anything that went beyond the generally accepted norms. Though the guy envied his friends who calmly went to such actions, but, anyway, he tried to keep himself in hand. But on stage, the young man showed all that was holding back in real life. That's why, he liked to play more and more. Initially, parents wanted their son to study literature or journalism to become a writer. But, Benjamin suddenly realized that he wanted to stand on stage all his life, to play in the theater and cinema. Otherwise, he simply can not throw out his energy and restrained recklessness, and from this he will not be at all sweet. Despite the fact that the parents considered this venture hopeless, in this situation, always the correct laughter began to violently contradict them and, after all, achieved that he entered the Moscow Art Theater and the Shchukin School. Parents were wrong and the direct proof of this was that the guy was enrolled in some of the most prestigious theatrical universities. Choosing which one to stay in, Smekhov still chose Shchukin's school. This school was associated with him on a holiday, and Smekhov always wanted to give positive things to himself and others. But, at first it was not enough positive in studies. The course was conducted by Etush and he did not like laughs. The young master annoyed his isolation, constant embarrassment, fear of a woman's gaze. Etush insisted that Smekhova be expelled. And then I put five in acting. And all that thanks to the fact that Smekhov put all his perseverance to overcome fear and embarrassment, to open up before teachers, classmates and spectators, to show his talent.
Actor's way.
After graduation, Smekhov could not find a job for a long time. At first he played in the Kuibyshev TV show, but then, he returned to Moscow and was left without work. However, when the young man was almost disappointed in his choice, he was accepted into the Moscow Theater of Drama and Comedy. It was there that he played many of his most interesting and memorable theatrical roles.
If we talk about cinematography, then Smekhov appeared in many films, but, worldwide fame and recognition, he, of course, brought the role of Athos in The Three Musketeers. This film has always been so vivid and it shot such beautiful actors that for thirty years, in every decade there was a continuation of the picture. And always remained a laughter of Athos. He wonderfully harmoniously embodied on the screen of this character, for which he honor and praise from all the fans.
Smekhov is a theatrical, cinematographic actor and director. He directed a lot of great performances, which were sold out. His love of literature is also not lost and he is quite professionally engaged in literary activity. And, Benjamin is a wonderful teacher. Every year he travels to America for one semester to train future actors in their mastery.
Smekhov had two marriages. In the second he has lived happily for thirty years. The actor has two daughters and three grandchildren.
