If you judge about Vera by her appearance, it seems that she is one of those women who need to be protected, guarded, protected from life's troubles and surrounded by care. This, by the way, always bribes the men ... She never knew how to "walk around the corpses" and shoving others elbows. Or maybe she did not?

But to say that Glagoleva - a woman pampered and spoiled, too, would be unfair. Actress and film director Vera Glagoleva does not consider herself as fragile as it might seem. She knows that she has an outstanding willpower and amazing purposefulness.


As a rule , many traits are laid down in childhood. Was the actress and film director Vera Glagoleva a favorite in the family?

I was a younger sister, and this, as they say, explains a lot. All the cones went to my elder brother, I was forgiven a lot. In addition, I was my father's daughter - as conflict-free and easy as he. And Brother Boris is in my mother, serious, thoughtful. He was forced to play the piano until he was indignant: "Why does no one force Vera, and I should?" But my duties included walking with a dog and driving her to all sorts of exhibitions. It was the incredible beauty of a greyhound, and it was she who considered me her mistress.

You were born in Moscow, but finally settled in the capital only at the age of ten, after the whole family lived four years in Germany. What was your life abroad?


Life in Germany was calm and wonderful. Parents worked as teachers in the Russian school, in the territory of which we lived. The school even had its own farm - rabbits, chickens ... Father worked as a biologist, and it was his estate. My brother and I helped him in the garden. On Saturdays, Russian commandos of the 60s - Lev Kulidzhanov, Grigory Chukhrai, Mikhail Kalatozov - were shown in the club's commandant's office ... It was in their paintings that I got my first ideas about cinema. In the rest of the time we were left to ourselves, lived happily and carefree. Germany gave me some kind of inner freedom, the absence of fear of being different.


What did you dream about?

I did not collect postcards with photographs of the actors and certainly did not plan to become an actress. Although the theater loved selflessly - still a schoolgirl was a fan of Anatoly Efros and Yuri Lyubimov, probably visited all the performances in theaters in Malaya Bronnaya and Taganka. Went, getting an extra ticket, sitting on the gallery ... I liked to watch how the performance changed depending on the composition. But there were hundreds of theater-goers in those days, a similar hobby was in the order of things and did not foretell that I would associate my life with this profession.

In the early seventies schoolgirl Vera Glagoleva was at the film studio Mosfilm and accidentally got a major role in Rodion Nakhapetov's film "To the End of the World ...". This was the beginning of her stellar career in film.


How did you end up on Mosfilm?

My mother by that time worked as deputy director in the Palace of Pioneers. And the director from Odessa came to them in search of performers for a children's picture. I myself did not fit the age, but my mother asked me to help, to select the children for the filming. I was attracted to such an extent that I decided to continue to do this - to select artists. I used to go to Mosfilm at closed shows. My friend worked there - she was older than me, and I went to her to consult, how to proceed further, to do the work I liked. Rodion noticed me there. My friend and I stood in line at the buffet, when Nahapetov's operator entered. He approached us and said that Rodion is looking for a leading role in her new film. I asked if I would like to read the script. I read the script, and I liked it, which I reported. Then I decided that it was done - you just have to wait for the filming. I did not feel any trepidation or excitement, there was absolute certainty that I was the only pretender. With a calm heart, I went to archery competitions, which at that time was actively engaged, and began to wait for the call.


Much later, the actress and film director Vera Glagoleva learned that her tests seemed so horrible that the pictures were immediately put aside and forgotten about them. The situation changed the case: the approved actress suddenly fell ill, and the pictures of Glagoleva again caught sight of the staff of the crew. At the studio actress Vera Glagoleva came in a green overall with hearts on the chest, which sewed her brother Borya. He also cut actress and film director Veru Glagolev under Mireille Matje. All this was a bold courage for the early seventies, and besides, they made it unlike anybody.

Caught on the set, did you feel that you became closer to movie stars?

There was a feeling that I was deceived. I thought I was already being called, and in the dressing room I discovered another actress for my role. I was not even offered to change clothes, they said that it would do so. In addition, the camera was always on my partner, and I worked the back of my head. For some reason I did not worry at all. The trials ended, and Rodion dismissed all those who were engaged in them. I was left alone with the camera. Rodion suggested that I read a monologue. There was no time to teach him, so he began to prompt me - he threw cues, and I answered, just said to the camera. Probably, if I were preparing the text at home, it would have been much worse, but here everything happened spontaneously, naturally, by itself ... In the end, Rodion said: "Everything, I found the heroine!"

It's so easy for an actress and film director Vera Glagoleva to get what many are fighting for years. Glagoleva herself recalls that she reacted to the incident without much enthusiasm and trepidation. Unless it was a little embarrassing to rush to the neck of the great artist Peter Glebov with cries of "Daddy, Daddy ...". Nahapetov immediately began to treat the young debutante with increased attention. It was nice, yet, but the star of the films "Tenderness" and "Lovers", a sex symbol of that era, thousands of women died, and he drew attention to it.


Rodion was older than Vera for 12 years, he became her first director and teacher. Glagoleva herself does not like to be frank about her relationship with Nakhapetov, but that it was a dizzying romance, it is already possible to judge by the creative intentions that were born and realized by this couple. Nahapetov filmed Vera continuously, in most of his films of those years, and did not want to share it with anyone. Moreover, he was always demanding of the elected actress and sought to ensure that she did everything better than others.

Was it important for you, praised or abused?

I was not particularly scolded. However, and praised infrequently. But I always endured life's failures. In order for me to work, I still have better praise. From criticism, my hands drop, and praise, on the contrary, gives new strength. I also behave myself in relation to my colleagues - in the work of any person there is something for which it can be praised. The rest can be left behind the brackets or say extremely delicately.

Natural professionalism and external fragility, behind which there was a strong nature. Vera struck and the famous director Anatoly Efros. He was preparing to shoot a picture "On Thursday and never again" and approved the actress and filmmaker Veru Glagolev for the role on the last day of the screen test. And she persuaded Nakhapetov to let her go to the shooting. Rodion did not resist, he also understood that working with Efros was an indispensable experience for a young actress. But on the set to Glagoleva came to everyone to know: the girl is busy.


Faith with ecstasy plunged into the shooting. Until now, she is enthusiastic about this work. "So, as Anatoly Vasilyevich loved actors, nobody loved them," she recalls. At the end of the work, Efros invited Glagolev to his theater. Immediately the actress did not use the offer, and later Efros did not repeat the invitation, and she hesitated to remind. And suddenly, during one of the occasional meetings at Mosfilm, Efros suddenly said: "Faith, why do not you answer me? Decide, I'm waiting. " And Glagolev, who had been waiting for this for so long, unexpectedly refused.

Do you regret that you did not go to the theater to Anatoly Efros?

I do not think it would radically change my life, as many people tend to think. I only regret that I did not learn from him all that I could learn. I still remember how, under the influence of Rodion, I tried to come up with a refusal and babble in response to his proposal, which I will not be able to do. And he said: "With me - it will work!"

They say that the reason for your refusal was Nahapetov. He did not want you to be influenced by such a strong personality as Efros?

Not certainly in that way. The fact is that sometimes Rodion treated me like a child. Here and in this case he, knowing about the theatrical intrigues, was afraid to let me into the world where they can offend, offend. He did not want me to hurt anything. In my opinion, he simply protected me.

In the life of Rodion Nakhapetov was very different from the screen?

Thanks to his film work, everyone created the image of an open, cheerful person, but in reality Rodion was a silent, submerged person who did not tolerate noisy companies. In this sense, we were full of opposites. Although everyone considered us to be an exemplary pair - just like Alexander Abdulov and Irina Alferov, like Sergei Solovyov and Tatyana Drubich. But, undoubtedly - he was a wonderful father, just dad number one. He walked with the girls, and played the guitar, and slept in bed ... Although still really grown them - and Anya, and Masha - my mother. She's just a hero. When they shot Starfall in Kerch, Masha was only four months old.


And how do you remember your acquaintance with Cyril?

At that time I had a script for the film, for which Rodion was looking for money. We already broke up, but I helped him in this quest. I asked Cyril if he would be interested in the scenario in terms of funding. The script did not interest him. But our marriage is almost twenty years old.

It is known that you were married. Was it a conscious step or just a tribute to tradition?

Cyril is a believer, and it was his initiative. Everything was very quiet, in the temple we were alone, and with us - only our children, Anya and Masha. Cyril - the exact opposite of Rodion: open, cheerful, sociable. Although both Aquarians, even born on the same day-January 21, but in different years. He was on the move in my crazy life, then more and more began to take the initiative. But, of course, the most important thing is that he fell in love with my girls and, in fact, raised them on a par with our Nastya. He never regretted anything for them - neither money, nor attention ...

Could you call yourself a woman, lucky and happy in love?

With age, I came to the conclusion that you need to love yourself a little less than you love. You can not let love in without a trace, dissolve in it. Too painful can be disappointment.
