When he and his mother moved to Moscow, Andrew even more began to show what he really is. The boy and his mother lived in Zamoskvorechye and went to a local school. By the way, it was at this school that the famous poet Andrei Voznesensky studied with him.
Andrei Tarkovsky was never constrained or withdrawn. He knew how to find an approach and communicate with everyone. Even the teachers were equal to him. The art in his life
Tarkovsky was interested in art from a young age. He went to the Art School named after 1905. However, after graduating from secondary education, the future director did not immediately determine who he wants to become. The boy entered the Arabic department of the Middle East faculty of the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies. He was interested and he even went to practice in Siberia. There, on the river, the guy spent all three months in a geological expedition. But still, the love for creativity took its toll, and after returning to Moscow, Andrei went to VGIK. There he passed the exams and got into the workshop of Mikhail Romm. Together with him studied a lot of known to date stars of that generation. But most of all on the course stood out with their uncommon talents Andrei Tarkovsky and Vasily Shukshin. By the way, when Shukshin and Tarkovsky took exams, the commission for some reason did not want the guys to be admitted to a higher educational institution. All the teachers told Romm not to take the kids. And he did not agree, taking one and the other. Vasily and Andrey were different, like oil and water. They largely did not converge, but Romma considered that it was just such peculiar personalities that the faculty needed. That's how the guys ended up in his workshop.
Studies and first projects
During his studies, Tarkovsky became very close friends with Konchalovsky. Here they just the same converged views on creativity and life. That is why the guys always performed all the projects assigned to them jointly. They liked working in tandem, sharing ideas. Their thesis work was a short film "A skating rink and a violin". It turned out so interesting and successful that it won the main prize in New York, when there was a competition between student films. This happened in 1961.
Mosfilm
After graduation, Tarkovsky got on Mosfilm. The first film he shot was "Ivan's Childhood." This story about a kid who got to the front turned out so sincere and tragic that Tarkovsky immediately noticed. Then the picture "I'm twenty years old" appeared on the screens. Another film, "Andrei Rublev," which went abroad under the title "Passion for Andrew," was a real masterpiece. In it, Tarkovsky has already begun to reveal his dissent. That's why abroad this film was considered a unique masterpiece. But in the Soviet space it was released to a limited extent, severely curtailed and much simply removed. Of course, at that time it was impossible to talk so sincerely and originally about the life of the great icon painter. Tarkovsky was able to show too much of what it was necessary to remain silent in the Soviet Union.
And then Tarkovsky took two real masterpieces, which they admire to this day. This, of course, "Solaris" and "Stalker". Two of these films have become a real godsend for Soviet cinema. They are so interesting and original that they can not be compared to many and many Hollywood blockbusters. Without special effects, expensive costumes and decorations, Tarkovsky was able to convey the essence of masterpieces of the twentieth-century science fiction. He became a legend while still alive, but the Soviet government did not recognize him. Andrew had no place in his home country. So he went to Italy, and then to France.
