So it turns out a strange situation in which the search for the cause of sexual violence against women is turned upside down. There are three possible sources of reasons for this unpleasant event - a man, a woman and third parties or circumstances. In Russia, it is common to underestimate the role of men in this unpleasant incident, but the role of women is overrated. We will try to maintain objectivity and consider all three possible causes of sexual violence.
Man as a source of violence
The study of the problems of sexual violence made it possible to clearly identify both the demographic and psychological portrait of the rapist. Among the abusers are predominantly single men with a low level of education, usually engaged in heavy physical labor. Among the office employees and intellectuals, rapists are much less common.
Men who are prone to violence usually have a serious conflict with their father and overestimate the role of the mother in the family. In the head of such a man a porridge is hatched from hatred of the father and attempts to protest against his male behavior. A model of masculinity and brutality is the mother, who by definition can not become the ideal standard of male behavior. This incredible mixture of incorrect identifications with sexual roles, hatred and protests against the father makes a man dependent on the so-called hypermasculine forms of behavior. Simply put, they are sure that only a brutal male who does not know mercy, can be a real man. Sexual violence against women for them is a way to realize such an idea of a male role and an option to reduce the internal tension that arises from unresolved child conflicts.
Often men, prone to violence, suffer a whole bunch of sexual perversions (deviations from the norm). They like group sex, among them often there are pedophiles, gerontophiles, hidden and explicit homosexuals. True, homosexuality among rapists is often of a substitute nature. That is, they practice it only if there is no access to communication with women, for example, in prison or the army.
Woman as a provocateur of violence
The cause of sexual violence against women can be covered in the psychology of the women themselves. The most vulnerable women for violators are those who in the childhood were exposed to depraved actions from adults and have strong psychological traumas concerning the sexual sphere. Such women with their fear attract rapists, at an unconscious level telling them that they can commit violence. Most women resist the abusers until the last and successfully avoid it, but there are also some who just need to be scared, how they surrender. This sacrificial behavior is usually the most desirable for potential rapists, and they are able to intuitively distinguish a lady prone to sacrifice, even in a huge crowd.
Third parties and circumstances provoking violence
Sexual violence can have other causes than a mental deviation in the head of a man or a tendency to attract rapists on the part of a woman. This is especially true of groups of people, which include poorly developed individuals with not yet established or already destroyed life values, for example, adolescents, drug addicts or former prisoners.
Among the instigators of violence may be fans of BDSM-themed. In these communities, it is customary to play games that involve elements of violence, humiliation and pain. There are both quite adequate supporters of sadomasochistic subjects, and rather insane persons coming to these communities. Having found contact with a woman who is potentially ready to play sex-role games in the style of BDSM, they can not always stop, and they can become real rapists towards a woman who has risked experimenting.
It's worth mentioning about alcohol, which causes some people to do things that they would never have done soberly.
Whatever it was, and every case of sexual violence requires a separate analysis. The reasons can be very different, and do not underestimate the ones or overestimate others. However, in our society - it is necessary to admit this - the woman who became a victim of sexual violence, is extremely unhealthy. After all, regardless of the degree of mental inferiority of the rapist, public opinion often happens on his, and not on the side of his victim. And this painfully hurts an already affected woman's self-esteem.
