Child development in the first month

To begin with, it should be explained that the child is not a small adult. The child's body has many of its features, which must be taken into account. And in general, each age has its own characteristics, which over the years go to the same level. The development of the child in the first month has several features that young parents need to know.

Did you know that if a little child under the influence of some magic turned into an adult, it would be a rather strange person. And not only that, strange, it would not be proportional.

In a newborn, the length of the spine is twenty-one to twenty-five centimeters, and although it is very flexible and plastic, its formation is not yet complete, since the bends of the spine are barely visible. In an adult, the ratio of the diameter of the head and body length is one to eight, at that moment as the child has only one to four. Disproportionate head of the newborn, in the first place, depends on the undeveloped jaw and lack of teeth, as well as the development of the brain. The face of the baby is slightly shorter - this is one of the main features of the overall external development of the child in the first month of his life. He has underdeveloped masticatory and facial muscles, a narrow eye gap, the nose is small, and the bridge of the nose seems to be very wide, again, the proportion of the face is disturbed by sufficiently large ears and horizontally located tympanic membranes.

The cervix in the newborn is short, but due to the subcutaneous fatty fatty looks thick enough. Muscles are atrophied, which is why a newborn is unable to hold his head on his own.

The shape of the chest is unique due to the weakly developed lungs and the highly located diaphragm. And so the child can not take a deep breath.

The belly of the newborn, in comparison with other organs, is the largest and has a conical shape, directed downwards. Due to the large (relatively, of course) liver, the upper part of the tiny body looks enlarged. All the internal organs of the newborn have their own characteristics in shape, size and position.

Do not forget that the formation of the nature of the baby begins with the first days of life and primarily from your communication. Everything begins with reflexes: positive and negative. The first concern of parents is as much as possible of positive reflexes and, naturally, as little as possible negative. Positive emotions in the child is a regular food, clean, and that is not unimportant - this is your communication, smiles and caresses. The newborn should see care and love in everything. And do not forget that your irritability and anger primarily affects your child. Under such circumstances, the child can grow up nervous, and this will interfere with his life (and, perhaps, not only him).

Upon arrival from the hospital, in the first days you should be visited by a nurse and a district pediatrician, do not hesitate to ask them questions that concern you, which concern your child's health, as well as caring for him. The advice that will follow from them will add to your confidence.

Regularly weigh your baby. This can be done both in a clinic and at home. In the first year of life, it is recommended to control the weight of the baby with a table - you will always see: when and how much it adds to weight. On the table, the curved line should be smooth without sudden jumps, but even if the baby does not gain weight for several days - do not worry, he should dial it a little later. In the first three months, a healthy child should gain from twenty to thirty grams per day. Do not overfeed your child, because overweight can cause diseases.

It's not a secret for anyone that in the first days young mom and dad are afraid to take a newborn in their arms, so as to be uncomfortable and inept at handling not to harm the crumbs. This fragile, small and gentle creation should not be raised by the hand! And when you hold the child in your arms, make sure that his head is not thrown back. The head of the child must be maintained, as the weak muscles of the neck do not allow him to keep it by himself.

This science is not very difficult: the child lies on your left or right hand, and the head at this time is supported by the elbow. And to verify the correctness of their actions, pay attention to the fact that the body of the baby should be based on three points: the back of the head, shoulder blades and pelvis - and everything is on the same level.

Do not panic when you hear the first cry of a child. Development in the first months of life provides a frequent cry. But this is not necessarily a signal that the baby is worried about something. The child's cry is also a kind of gymnastics for many muscles of the body: cervical, thoracic and abdominal. During the screaming the child develops lungs, the gas exchange takes place. Do not run to the child at his first cry, let him scream for a couple of minutes, because it's useful. But if he does not calm down, then it is worthwhile to look for the cause of his crying. There can be several:

- went to a diaper or a diaper and feels discomfort;

- He is tormented by hunger or thirst;

- it is itching from clothes;

- The crumb is too hot (cold);

- intestinal colic.

In such cases, the first thing to do is change the diaper if the child does not calm down - carefully inspect the clothes. Perhaps it needs to be fed. If the crumb is troubled by the tummy, you can give him a little dill vodichki, which is sold in any pharmacy.

From the first days you need to watch to not spoil the child. Do not take it in your hands without reason - the child quickly gets used to such treatment and can not fall asleep without your hands or motion sickness, in the future it will only worsen and grow into moods and hysterics.

Many young parents are concerned that their child urinates too often. There is no reason to experience, he can do his business 10-12 times a day - this is the norm. Just to note young parents should know and not be afraid that the original feces of the child is very dark, and then the chair will lighten and get a yellowish color.

You can evaluate the development of the baby yourself. Slide your finger along the bottom of the crumbs - and it will necessarily pull off the leg. The sucking reflex is also very easy to check, you just need to hold your finger over the baby's lips - and he will grab it and begin to suck. Touch your finger to his palm - and he tightly squeezes it into the fist. If all of these reflexes are there, then your baby is normal and develops as expected in the first month of life.
