And it's best to start your training with knitting simple, but such things necessary for kids, like booties or a baby's cap. All this can easily be obtained with the help of a hook, a string of threads for knitting, your imagination and a desire to make a lovely and beautiful thing for your child with your own hands.

A baby cap is the very first thing that should be in the wardrobe of a newborn. To tie such a cap is not difficult even for a beginner knitter. It is important here simply to own the art of air loops and columns with and without the crochet. To crochet for a baby's cap, you will need a thin coat and hook.
The cap should be designed for head circumference, approximately 35-38 cm. We start knitting with a chain of about 30 cm, which is knitted with air loops. Then we knit the crochet stitches. We should have a rectangle with a height of 10-11 cm. Break off the thread and go to knitting the back of the bonnet. Fold our rectangle in half and from the middle in both directions measure 4-5 cm, marking them with pins. We use the column with the crochet to knit the first row of the rear part. On both sides in 2-4 rows we add on a column with a crochet. From the bottom of the last column we need to loosen additional columns. The width of the canvas should be 10 cm. Now, starting from each odd number, we reduce one column from two sides. All lines of the side of the bonnet and its back should coincide. We combine the lateral edge and the back part, connecting them with the help of columns without a crochet. Hook simultaneously in both parts of the cap. The seam should look like a pigtail and go over the outside. Do not tear off the thread. Knitting we start with an air chain, the length of which should be about 5 cm. Around it we uncoil the oval. We knit the sole of the booties, making for the heel equal roundings on one side and a protrusion in the form of a triangle for the socks on the other. So it is necessary to knit until the sole is 9 cm.
We pass to the top of the booties. Here we need to make a constriction, namely uniform on the heel and noticeable on the toe. Our height should be approximately 2.5 cm.
So, up to this point our booties were knitting without a crochet with sticks - now we are tying 1 row with columns with a crochet that will help us to "lift" our booties. Do not forget that you need to narrow the sock even more. The heel is tied with a crochet without a crochet. After we "lift" the front of the booties, tying a row with a crochet.
As a result, we have ready booties. It is very important to tie a second booties of the same size. Therefore, it is necessary to make all necessary measurements with a ruler or centimeter tape and only then, following the figures obtained, start knitting the second booties.
