Pug: care

Care of dogs of this breed is divided into two main groups: care of folds of the muzzle and care of the coat.

Wool. It is more preferable to use a steel comb made of stainless steel. Combing should be done at least about once a week. Wool will have a well-groomed and cute appearance. Pugs strongly molt! His wool will fly throughout the apartment, like poplar fluff during the flowering period.

It is better to comb the pug as often as possible, optimally - every day. This will significantly reduce the amount of wool in the house. Many pugs like to be combed, problems with this procedure usually do not arise. The only thing you need to learn is to comb the hair properly in the direction of growth, lightly pressing on the comb.

The dog should be bathed. Carry out this procedure enough once a month, although it is not forbidden and more often, especially since pugs do not mind it. Pug's mode needs to be maintained taking into account the activity of the animal.

Folds. Any breed that has folds on the muzzle, requires very careful care of this place. During walks, the dog examines the grass, dust settles on the muzzle, while various contaminants accumulate in the folds. Such a huge number of bacteria should be removed, otherwise, folds can develop fungus or other infections, the dog will be unpleasant to smell. It is not difficult to treat these diseases, but it is better to carry out prophylaxis in time. To the procedure for care of folds, the dog should be trained as early as possible. A special, alcohol-free lotion is used to wipe the folds, applied to a cotton pad or swab. It is necessary to start the procedure under the eyes and further along the folds. The contaminated disk should be replaced with a clean one, until the next disk is clean. After cleansing the folds, the skin under the nose can be slightly covered with petroleum jelly. The procedure is carried out at least once a week.

It is required, like other breeds, to clean teeth, ears, and cut nails on their paws in a timely manner. In addition, for the health of pugs every day you need walks.
