Evgeni Plushenko will not go to the Olympics-2018

Two-time Olympic champion in solo skating Evgeni Plushenko will not represent Russia at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korean Pyeongchang. The official website of the Russian Olympic Committee published a list of 690 athletes who will take part in the competitions, but the surnames of the figure skater are not among them.

Eugene declared his desire to speak at the 2018 Olympics soon after the winter games in Sochi. Then Plushenko said:
Everything that was broken, healed, nothing more to be broken. Let's try to perform at the fifth Olympiad - and perform well.

However, none of these words were taken seriously at the background of the huge scandal involving the skater, which took place in the Olympic Sochi in 2014.

Refusal of performance in Sochi-2014 cost Evgenie Plushenko of a sports career

Those who closely followed all the latest news from Sochi in the winter of 2014 remember well how Evgeny refused to go out on the ice in the compulsory short program, explaining this with a strong back pain after a recent operation.

Due to the removal of Plushenko from the competition, the Russian team lost Olympic medals for the first time in many years in single men's competitions. And the pain in the back worried Plushenko even before the start of the Olympic Games. The skater was even invited to give up his place in the team to Evgeny Kovtun, who with excellent results passed all qualifying competitions. However, Plushenko assured the coach that he would cope with the task. But, apparently, I overestimated my capabilities.

Perturbation of fans and many colleagues of the sportsman then there was no limit. They took this action from the figure skater in no other way than betrayal and "set up". Even more outraged by the public was the fact that shortly after the incident in Sochi, Evgeni Plushenko announced a "farewell two-month tour."

Will Eugene Plushenko fall for the 2018 Olympics? Everything can be ...

Over the past two years, Evgeni Plushenko has repeatedly stated that he dreams of taking part in the new Olympics. In an interview with journalists, the sportsman noted:
I would like to perform at the fifth Olympiad, before I did no one. I would like to set a record for myself
Recently, Plushenko has toured the country with ice shows, and at the end of December is going to please the Muscovites with his own ice show "The Nutcracker".

Yana Rudkovskaya, Plushenko's wife and a talented producer, does not miss the slightest opportunity to once again note the excellent physical shape of her husband.

It is worth noting that the list of Russian athletes who will go to the 2018 Olympics can still be changed, so the piercing Yana Rudkovskaya has every chance to send her beloved spouse to Pyeongchang ... 😉
