Flower Ranunculus, grow at home

Ranunculus is referred to a plant from the family of buttercups. This genus includes more than 600 species of buttercups: they can be annual, biennial, or perennial. They were distributed all over the world. The name of this plant in translation means "frog", and some explain this by the fact that many representatives of this genus grow near water or directly in the water. Because the plant is successfully grown - you need moisture. But it should be noted that for winter the beds with Ranunculus should be covered, and during the thaw should be protected from water.

Ranunculus, planting and care for which are described below, is good because it has a pleasant appearance, blooms with bright and lush colors. On one stem you can see several flowers at once. It blossoms for a month: usually in June-July. However, in garden shops after forcing this plant in bloom can be bought already in the winter. If the plant blossomed after the forcing in the early spring, it is kept in pots and used to decorate the apartment, exposing it to the balcony. But at the end of winter it's cold outside and so they should be kept in the apartment, as this plant is from a warm edge and they can not withstand such a low temperature.

Ranunculus: caring.

Most buttercups are "seasoned" plants and they can be grown outdoors in the open.

A flower is a Ranunculus, it is possible to grow a house with the help of seeds, and with the help of rhizomes. The plant gives preference to warm conditions, but direct direct sun rays are not worth it. If you grew the buttercup in the garden in the summer, then in the beginning of autumn you should dig up its rhizomes and put it in the room. For the cultivation of buttercups requires a flower land with sand: sand increases the water permeability of the earth.

If there is a desire to grow Ranunculus at home, then they need to be transplanted, approximately once every three years. If the plant is overgrown, then it must be divided and all parts planted in a separate pot. In spring, you should take pots, whose diameter is 15-20 centimeters, planting seedlings in them: into the ground, adding a little sand. If the pot is not wide, then one seedling, and if the place allows, then it is possible and three.

This plant requires good drainage, in particular the buttercups of alpine species. This can be done by laying eggshells on the bottom. Speaking specifically about the type of Ranunculus, if it has a thickening on the roots in the form of a tuber, it should be planted to a depth of about 5 cm into the ground, the soil must be enriched with manure and leaves. If to speak about the very place of disembarkation, then it should have good access to the sun.

When the flower Ranunculus only begins to grow, it should be watered abundantly. During the time when the plant starts to bloom, a small amount of fertilizer must be added to the water that is watered. After the onset of wilting, the frequency of irrigation should be reduced. Flowers that have already begun to fade, should be removed, and at the end of August the stem must be cut to the ground. In winter this plant does not require much time: plants that remain in the ground can not be watered, after the foliage has wilted. Tubers should be dried in the sun and cleaned in a dry place, with a not very low temperature.

Soil for buttercups is more suitable soft, loose, with neutral reaction. To plant bulbs should be at a frequency of 10-20 pieces per square meter, with a depth of about 5 cm. If grown at home, the best diameter is 12-14 cm. The temperature regime is best for germination - it is 15-17C, and already farther in period of growth, slightly less: 12-15C. If you keep a warmer temperature, then the plant will bloom and then quickly fall off. In winter, the temperature in the room where the Ranunculus is located should not be lowered, below 6-10 ° C. The only period when they can withstand the temperature below this is a rest period, but they last only one month. To keep the tubers of the Ranunculus long will not be possible either. Even if you keep them at a low temperature, they still very quickly germinate and they need to be planted in pots, until spring comes.

Ranunculus: landing.

Ranuncles are planted on the street only after the earth warms up. It happens, approximately, in the beginning of May. Before planting, the tubers need to be soaked in water, having previously added growth stimulators to it for swelling. Compost or peat is added to the fertile soil, and then the Ranunculus is planted in it. The place should be sunny or slightly darkened. If we talk about a specific kind of buttercup, then for example, buttercup asian, requires open soil with a rich organic with the addition of manure.

Top dressing. A good influence on these plants mineral fertilizers, it is desirable that they contain an increased amount of potassium, about 40-50 grams per square meter, and for domestic conditions - 30-40 grams per bucket of soil. In the summer, before the buttercup blossoms, it is good to feed it with a solution of the mullein. Some Ranunculus love lime earth - for example, buttercup.

Location. Preferences in Ranunculus - well-lit, slightly moist, but not raw places. While growing in the penumbra, you can achieve long-term preservation of color and duration of flowering.

Many buttercups are frost-hardy. In the vast majority, buttercups prefer moist soil, with abundant watering also.

Watering. Ranunculus is a flower that requires periodic irrigation, as it does not like over-dried land, although it does not welcome the too moist soil: from excess moisture, the roots are covered with mold or rot. Well-hydrated and with the presence of a large number of organic - such a land will be the most optimal for him.

It is especially good to water the buttercups during growth, especially the poor drying of the soil.

Reproduction. After the rancunulus fades from it the foliage falls, right after that it is necessary to dig out its tubers and lay it for the whole winter period in a dry room with a not very low temperature. Many of the buttercups that are intended for growing in the garden, on the tubers grow nodules, i.e. tubers, babies. If you separate them, you can plant tubers only from the most beautiful specimens.

The buttercups multiply by "additional" rhizomes. They should be carefully separated, when the main plant is excavated during the fall period. You can also propagate with seeds. The best time for planting is October-November, the sowing should be done in the open ground or in a greenhouse, also the possible time for sowing is March, in March, too, it should be sown in a greenhouse. Soil for seeding should be easy, the seeds are sprinkled with soil while maintaining a constant moisture. The temperature should not exceed 20 ° C. Seeds germinate within two to three weeks. Also seedlings need to be lightened. Young seedlings of buttercups for a season form tubers, and then blossom.
