The fact that weather changes affects the human body, noticed for a long time. But this does not mean that the situation should be taken as it is and reconciled with headaches and bad health on such days. How exactly does the change in weather conditions affect our health and how to deal with it? You can, of course, encourage yourself as much as you like with the good old song "Nature does not have bad weather," but when the rain pours like a bucket outside the window or a cold wind pierces, the state of health leaves much to be desired. Drowsiness, apathy, migraine - that's not all the list of symptoms of meteorology.
So it happened historically. At one time the famous Greek physician Hippocrates noticed that the weather affects human health. He even conducted meteorological studies, trying to understand the connection between the disease and the time of year. As a result, we owe him the knowledge of seasonal exacerbations. And in the directory of illnesses the description of each illness Hippocrates began with influence of weather on it. The theory of meteorological sensitivity was developed by another Greek physician, Diocles. He divided the year into six seasons and gave his patients clear recommendations on the way of life in a certain period. So there appeared the science of bioclimatology, which studies the influence of climate on biological objects.
And already in the twentieth century, the scientist Alexander Chizhevsky conducted a study and proved for the first time that on the days of meteorological activity on Earth more accidents occur. Increases to the maximum of solar activity, called magnetic storms, cause a surge of social activity of people, which often results in revolutions, wars and catastrophes. Today, modern scientists confirm the conjectures of their predecessors. Studies have proven that most accidents and accidents occur in the heat or cold.
Memory of ancestors
The fact that the body of many people is sensitive to a sharp change of weather - no doubt, but why is this happening? Until now, researchers have not come to a consensus on this. Some of them argue that the reason is the climate (in particular, it was considered so before), while others argue that the city life is to blame. It's also interesting: what exactly in our body reacts so much to the weather change, because there is no organ responsible for meteorological dependence. Therefore, there are several theories on this subject. One of them says that our cell membranes are very sensitive to changes in atmospheric pressure. As a consequence, free radicals are activated in the body, which causes certain systems and organs of the body to fail, and our well-being, of course, worsens. Influences on us and pressure drops, such as, for example, the arrival of a cyclone, accompanied by cloudiness and precipitation. On such days, there is little oxygen in the air, and this immediately affects the health of people suffering from heart and vascular problems. While the arrival of the anticyclone (clear, dry weather) is very poorly tolerated by allergy sufferers and asthmatics. Because the air brought by the anticyclone is excessively saturated with harmful impurities.
The followers of another theory are convinced that the meteosensitive zone, reacting to the temperature change outside the window, is somewhere in the region of the carotid artery. And when our blood pressure drops sharply, the body perceives this as a threat and tries to protect our entire circulatory system. To do this, it transmits signals from the spinal cord to the brain, resulting in a deterioration of well-being. Some scientists are inclined to believe that the cause of meteorological dependence is the memory of ancestors. After all, before the prediction of the weather, unless there were some shamans and it was not so easy to get on the Internet and find out whether rain or sun is waiting for us tomorrow. Therefore, the human body, in order to warn him, himself told him if a sharp deterioration in weather conditions is expected. True, it is worth admitting that in the old days people did not react so painfully to the weather change, as now. This is due to the fact that they did not live in the urban jungle, but in harmony with nature.
Forewarned is forearmed
In fact, unsharp weather changes are even useful for our body, because they are a kind of training for organs and systems. But this rule applies only to healthy people. And since most urban residents have low immunity and chronic diseases, meteorological dependence can become a serious ailment, but following a certain mode of life, it can be controlled.
First of all, you need to take care of proper rest and nourishment. This is usually something that most office staff do not have. A dream of at least 8 hours a day should become an inviolable rule. Food on meteorological days should be special, smaller fatty and spicy dishes, coffee and alcohol, it is desirable to include in the diet as much as possible plant and dairy products. And do not forget about vitamins, especially E, C and group B. The day is worth starting with a contrast shower with a gradual increase in water temperature - this is not only a good method of hardening the body, but also an excellent training of blood vessels. You can also visit saunas and baths. In addition, it is desirable to accustom yourself to morning exercises or running, but if there is no possibility to exercise, then you should spend at least an hour a day walking in the fresh air. A good help and all kinds of herbal teas with the addition of chamomile, mint, dog rose. Do not forget about medication. For example, on the eve of a magnetic storm, you can drink an aspirin tablet (if there are no problems with the stomach) or some calming drugs.
And most importantly, do not forget about the positive attitude, without it any, even the best treatment will be in vain.
