"Elephant" in no case should not be left untreated, otherwise the edema can acquire significant dimensions, which will lead to tissue damage, impaired blood circulation and trophic processes.

Lymphostasis is characterized by a number of symptoms:

When a patient has symptoms of "elephantiasis" - permanent swelling, you should consult a doctor.

Traditional methods of treating the "elephantiasis" of the legs.

Classical treatment of "elephantiasis" can improve the outflow of lymph and relieve inflammation. The patient is usually advised to bandage the limbs with elastic bandages or use elastic stockings.

In advanced cases, when the legs are seriously deformed with edema, surgical intervention is used. However, medicine is not able to restore tissue trophism.

For the treatment of lymphostasis, a number of compression products are produced: a stocking and elastic golf of various sizes. Due to compression, strong swelling of the extremities is eliminated. Also puffiness is removed by such ointments as "Venoruton", "Troxevasin" and "Actovegin". For oral administration, "Glivenol", "Rutozid", "Glinkor Fort", "Detralex", "Venoplant", "Anvenol" can be prescribed.

The result of surgery is usually the removal of subcutaneous tissue and the reconstruction of the lymphatic system. After the operation, it is recommended to bandage the limbs for another six months.
