How to choose the right makeup brushes?

Professional make-up artists say that without good brushes for make-up, it's impossible to make an impeccable and high-quality make-up. Even the most expensive and high-quality cosmetics will look like a mask on the face, if it is incorrectly applied. How to choose the right brush for make-up and not get confused in all the variety of brushes on the market?

The first thing you need to pay attention to is what material the brush is made of. There are two main types of brushes for make-up: natural brushes and synthetic ones. Natural brushes are used to apply dry textures: shadows, blush, powder, bronzer. Most natural makeup brushes are made from natural sable, squirrels and goats.

Natural makeup brushes are softer, they do not scratch and irritate even the delicate skin of the eyelids, but also cost, as a rule, quite expensive. Such brushes can be sheared and typed. The technology of making natural brushes for make-up with a cropped fleece is that the pile for the future brush is assembled together, regardless of the length of each individual villi. Then the entire mass of the nap is cut, giving the brush the necessary shape. Such brushes slightly scratch the eyelids when shading shadows, so it is recommended to use them to apply the color on the eyelid and apply the color to the fold. For good feathering, it is best to choose natural brushes with a set-up. In the process of their making, the shape of the brush is formed in such a way that each hair is ideally suited to others along the length.

Brushes made of synthetic nap (nylon and taclon) do not absorb fatty textures, due to which they are ideal for applying all cream products: bases, concealer, eyeliner, cream shadows, etc. Now a huge amount of high-quality synthetic brushes is produced, except they are more durable than natural brushes and they are easier to take care of. For women, fur-spraying, synthetic fiber brushes will be an ideal solution to this problem.

How to check the quality of the brush?

To make the makeup brushes you have served more than one year, pay special attention to their quality. Do not believe the manufacturer for a word, always check the brush before buying it. Let's look at some simple ways of evaluating the quality of the brush.

Basic makeup brushes

Every professional make-up artist has a set of dozens of different brushes for his set, but this does not mean that you need to have all of them to create a beautiful make-up at home, it is enough to purchase several basic brushes.

  1. Brush for applying a tonal basis. The most popular are 2 types of such brushes: a flat brush for tone and "duofiber" (the brush is stuffed with two kinds of nap, long white and short black). By applying a tonal base brush, the product is more evenly distributed to the polish and makeup looks more natural.
  2. Brush for corrector / concealer application. A small synthetic brush for corrector / concealer, will allow you to apply the product more accurately and shade it.
  3. Brush for powder. The brush should be large, fluffy and well-stuffed. A universal option is considered to be an oval brush for medium-sized powder, as it can be applied not only powder, but beforehand holding the pile of the wrist with your fingers, competing the face. A great popularity is used for the "kabuki" powder brush. They are round thick brushes on a short handle.
  4. Brush for applying blush. The best option is to pick up a brush, with which you can not only apply blush, but also shade them. For this, the brush should be round in name. The brush for blush is similar in shape to the powder brush, but is significantly smaller than its size.
  5. Brushes for applying shadows. To make a beautiful eye makeup, you will need at least three brushes for applying shadows: a brush for applying the primary color, a brush for applying colors in the fold and a feather brush. Any eye make-up begins with the application of the primary color, a flat rounded brush is ideal for this, the width of such a brush is about 10-12 mm.
  6. After applying the main color, arrange the color accents: darken the outer corner of the eye, apply a color to the eyelid and add the lower line of the eyelash growth. With all these problems, a small flat brush in the shape of a petal or a "pencil brush" will cope with it.
  7. For an ideal feathering and softening of borders, colors are used by fluffy brushes in the form of a barrel. Brush for shading should be made of soft natural nap. Never save a feather brush, since a poor-quality or hard brush will irritate and injure the delicate skin of the eyelids.
  8. Brush for applying liner. As a rule, small flat synthetic cystisos with a beveled edge or thin natural brushes with a long pointed pile are used to apply the liner. The selection of a brush for podvodki depends on what form of "shooter" you prefer. A brush with a thin pointed pile will allow you to draw a very thin line, and a brush with a bevelled edge is ideal for "shooters" retro.
  9. Brush for eyebrows. Filled with bristles and a brush, the eyebrows look much more natural than the eyebrows drawn with a pencil. The brush has a beveled cut and is very easy to use.
  10. Brush for applying lipstick. Most often these are small brushes made of synthetic fiber with a sharp tip. The brush will allow to apply the lipstick very evenly and clearly draw the contour of the lips even without using the contour pencil.
  11. A brush for the eyebrows will help to cut your eyebrows and give them the desired shape. As a brush for eyebrows you can use a well-washed bristle brush from an old carcass.
