There is a rare type of people who are usually called the fashionable word "perfectionists" - they strive for excellence in everything and for what they do everything they do "perfectly", they simply can not do it any other way.
Marina Mogilevskaya just from such "perfectionists": she has long proved her highest professionalism as an actress of theater and cinema and convincingly demonstrated her ability to literary creativity. She is loved and worshiped by a huge army of fans, the most enterprising of which even created on the Internet her constantly updated unofficial website.
Despite her "star" status, this extraordinarily charming, beautiful and talented woman is in a state of constant self-improvement - she reads a lot and is interested in many.
Marina is a very subtle and deep nature, and a truly religious person, keenly aware of and experiencing any falsehood and meanness. She is worried about the unhealthy processes taking place in our society. She agreed to talk about some of them with the correspondent of the portal "Orthodox Book of Russia".
- Marina, thank you very much for taking the time to meet in your busy schedule. First of all, let's ask not the original question, what are you currently working on? Where do you act and in what performances do you play?
- At the moment I do not work in films, not long ago I finished big shootings and now I have a theatrical period. At one time I did a lot of shooting in not always interesting to me material. This was due to many circumstances, including material ones, often I had to choose the best of what I was offered, but not at all what I wanted to play. Now I have a period when I can afford to play what I'm interested in. I have not received any interesting proposals from film directors yet. I am in a period of expectations, because I have not been removed for more than six months and have been terribly bored by this part of my profession. But in the theater I'm in demand and I play what I want. Now I play the main roles in four entertaining performances. One of them, the performance "Rumors", is worthy of being entered in the record book - it has been going on for 7 years, which is a unique case: as a rule, entreprises do not live long. But either because in our performance there was a wonderful actor company that you can only dream about, or because it's a very nice material, but I've been playing it for many, many years and I enjoy it.
The second performance is called "Vendetta - Babette" - this is a comedy from the village life, showing a model of human relations on the example of the Russian remote places. I was always interested in playing a colorful village woman, and I gladly agreed to take part in this performance. Visually, it's almost impossible to recognize me in it. My mother, having looked this performance, after the termination has come behind the scenes and has told to me: "I have understood all, and you where?"
The third play "The Lady and the Admiral" staged by Leonid Nikolayevich Kulagin was a gift for me. This is a magnificent English play, telling about the history of great love. On our part, there was a certain risk of taking it to the stage, since most of the current entreprise had vulgarized and discredited that word. Unfortunately, we ourselves accustomed the viewer to the fact that the entreprise is some kind of mediocre, entertaining and often primitive story involving the stars. Therefore, deciding to put a serious tragedy about a wonderful and beautiful love, we were very afraid that viewers are not ready for such material and will not perceive it. I am extremely pleased that our concerns were in vain. We showed this performance in many cities all over Russia, and I see how the viewer accepts it. It's a great joy for me to see so deeply and deeply thinking people that they correctly understand and feel serious material.
The fourth performance, which we released just recently, is called "My Big Zebra". This is a play from French life, telling a beautiful story about easy, beautiful love, but having its own philosophy.
- One critic wrote about your game in the play "Lady and Admiral": "Mogilev plays so that an ambulance should stand next to it." You work on wear and tear on stage, touring with entreprises all over the country - this way of life brings you satisfaction?
- Despite all the above difficulties, I'm really happy and satisfied with what I'm doing. Alas, there are a lot of roles that I have not played and because of age I will never play. Today I'm happy because not all roles are interesting. Even 15 years ago, I did not even have questions about the internal philosophy of my stage image. I reasoned and approached the role from a position: it is interesting for me to play it or not interesting. Now I see how much the influence of television, the press on the minds and consciousness of people, in contrast to cinema and theater. Feeling the influence of what I watch or read, I felt responsible for what I say and tell the audience about this or that role. I do not aspire to play only positive roles, but it is important for me that there is no propaganda of evil in the general conception of history in which the character I perform is. Previously, such problems did not excite me, and lately I can not remain indifferent to what moral and moral effect will produce a film or a performance with my participation. In many ways, this change was influenced by the fact that I came to faith, to God.
- Many actors complain that faith restricts their creativity, puts internal bans, you also touched it?
- Yes, it touched, for example, in the play "Lady and Admiral", there is a phrase in which Lady Hamilton curses the Church. Giving my consent to participate in this production, I insisted that it be removed. Although, as an actress, I understood that this phrase is needed in meaning, and I will not speak on my own behalf, nevertheless, I could not pronounce it.
But it is completely wrong to think that belief in God binds and limits creativity, it gives extraordinarily wide possibilities. God is love. I believe that the greatest of all that is on earth is love. This is the feeling that makes you live, stimulates to go forward, do something, bring good, bring joy. This is something worth living for.
If we analyze everything that we see and read today, there are very few stories about real feelings. Everything is so petty, mixed with passion and desire to cash in any way. Most media outlets praise the cult of power, money and debauchery from morning till night, and man is a receptive being, and if he constantly sees that this is happening, then at some point he begins to think that there is no other way. And it's scary. I am grateful to the fate that she gave me the opportunity not only to experience the feeling of love, but also to tell about him from the stage.
- You are right - modern people around the clock is influenced by the media, who treat us with low-grade programs based on peeping and discussing someone else's life. As a popular person, you are constantly experiencing a "nondescript eye", do you have a recipe for how to protect your psyche and nervous system from unceremonious media intrusion into your personal life?
- Alas, now in our country there is such a time when every stupid and dishonest person can write any nasty stuff and publish it, no information is checked for reliability. In the West, effective mechanisms have been created to protect the honor and dignity of citizens, at least the same court. In Russia, there are no means of influencing such media, although formally we have courts, but it's almost impossible to win in them, and most importantly, to severely punish slanderers. We are all well aware that if a newspaper allows itself to print some muck about a famous person, it means that it has a certain amount in its estimate in order to hire high-level lawyers in case of a trial to win this court or minimize the amount of compensation. While there are no laws in our country that severely punish libel and unscrupulous invasion of privacy, we can resent and shout, but there will be no effective results. I try not to keep track of the muck that they write about me.
"But there are quite a few people for whom the gathering of such gossip is the meaning of life!"
- I feel sorry for such people. But once such publications and TV shows are published, it means that they are in demand. Therefore, I believe that it is necessary to start fighting with such a phenomenon from the family. Only the family can educate and guide a person along this or that path. After all, in the world around us there is a lot of interesting things. In the broadcast network of almost all the central channels, there are many intelligent and developing intelligence transmissions. When watching the program "Clever and clever" I am glad that we have wonderful, well-read and erudite children. So, it remains one thing - to properly educate, so that a person develops immunity to all sorts of "yellowness", and in his soul was the desire to look at the intelligent broadening of the horizon transmission, read a serious book. Everyone is saved, as he can.
- Now there is much discussion about how to properly educate children. Thanks to his mother, you received a good upbringing and education, grew up an honest and decent person, how, in your opinion, are these qualities now appreciated and in demand?
- You are right, thanks to my mother, I got a good upbringing. My mother is a terribly clean and decent person. Now she is over 60 years old and for her never existed and still there are no bad people. She considers all good and justifies any evil. She considers any negative situation from the position that she was not right, she believes in people endlessly, despite the fact that she lived not the easiest life. In this respect, my mother brought up me to the surrounding world. Therefore, when at the age of 17 I left my mother's wing from the small town of Dubna to the big city of Kiev, where everything turned out to be completely different, I had to face many problems.
With my moral foundations, I did not know and did not understand how I fit into the surrounding life. I had to get a lot of very tangible "blows to the head." At that time, I repeatedly told my mother: "Why did you bring me up so well and what do I do with this decency !?" Of course, I was wrong. But it was extraordinarily difficult for me to adapt to the world around me, and I still painfully endure treachery, lies, dishonesty, money-grubbing.
I can not find an answer to the question of how to raise children properly? Indeed, nowadays it is very difficult for a man, brought up in accordance with God's laws, to be in an aggressive environment around us. How to find that facet in order to raise a child an honest and decent person and at the same time to adapt it in the surrounding life ?! While for me this problem is not solvable. But as a believer, I hope with God's help to find the answer to this question!
- What are your literary preferences?
- I read a lot of modern literature, but I do not find anything interesting in it. In modern literature, in my opinion, it is difficult to connect serious, global things with modern language. Because modern language has become very primitive. I prefer to read what makes me think, helps me understand and comprehend something about myself and the world around me. I like to read philosophical literature. As a believer, I constantly turn to the gospel. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the creators of the Orthodox Book portal, thanks to which I, like many Russian-speaking people, have an opportunity not only to learn about the novelties of Orthodox literature, but also to get acquainted with news that other media do not mention. This is a very useful undertaking.
- You have been engaged in literary works for many years, according to your script, a very pleasant and cute movie "When you do not expect it at all" was produced, tell us about what you are writing about now?
- I'm not a professional writer, although today it is considered not professional not to write. Now they write to everyone who is not too lazy, which makes me very sad. I believe that a good, literate word needs to be learned. Rare people are given it from above.
The story "When you do not expect it at all" I wrote for myself, it was rather an egoistic process to formulate my thoughts, draw conclusions. And I did not expect at all that someday what I wrote would be converted into a movie. And then I showed this story to Valery Todorovsky, and he suggested: "Let's try to finish this and make a picture." I was very lucky, although I had no idea that writing a script was a very difficult process. According to the script, a film was filmed, the premiere of which was held on one of the central channels of television in prime time. There were high ratings, many good reviews, the picture was very warmly received by the viewer, when I went around the country with the premiere shows.
I must admit that for me the first preview of this film was a somewhat stressful process, I felt how difficult it was to be a writer, because when you see a finished product, you understand that I wrote a few not about it, and somewhat differently imagined everything to myself, and your texts are pronounced not as you wanted it to be. This was my first and to date the only experience of literary creativity, brought to its logical conclusion.
I have many ideas, small sketches, short stories, but I do not write something big and serious. The fact is that a few years ago I wrote a novel, even showed it in one popular publishing house, where they told me that it was not their specialization. I did not go anywhere else, and now the manuscript has disappeared. Therefore, I will take up the pen only if I know that my work will be necessary for someone - they will want to print or shoot a film on it. I have no doubt that I will manage this work: if I have a strong desire or an incentive for some activity, I persevere in it and bring it to a victorious result.
- Do you have experience in creating scenarios, but did not try to try yourself in the directorial field?
- No, I have not tried it, but today I am fully ripe to make my own theater project. I have a very interesting, I think, idea of staging a performance. It is good that it is a story, on the one hand, simple and understandable with a dashing twisted plot, and on the other hand, a deep philosophical and invoking good. In addition, I am sure that this project can be commercial. On the example of the play "Lady and Admiral" I was convinced that our viewer was tired of a silly entertainment and is ready for serious drama. But while he is treated to light, thoughtless comedies. I hope that with God's help I will find like-minded people and I will be able to realize my ideas.
