Intestinal Infection in an Infant Child

To observe the rules of hygiene during travel is, of course, more difficult than at home. Take our recommendations on the road - we hope that they will help you, and intestinal infection in an infant does not affect you.

Stock up with enough wet wipes with antiseptic soak and always keep them handy.

Our advice: if you are traveling by train, grab a special wet wipe for cleaning and wipe them all surfaces available to the child.

Use only disposable dishes and towels.

Carry a small thermos with boiling water, so that there is more than a rinse off the fallen pacifier or toy.

On the road, not before experimenting with food - stock up on all the time of travel with products to which the child is accustomed and who he loves. Naturally, they should not be perishable.

The toilet in the train car is not the place for the baby, so take the pot with you. If the baby has grown out of it for a long time and uses a toilet at home, spend a few days before the trip.

Important

Never give in to the temptation to buy something delicious at the railway station or at roadside merchants, so there is reason to provoke an intestinal infection in the infant. The benefits of "steamed milk from the cow" is very doubtful

Our advice: in order to avoid problems with washing the pot, put a plastic picket in the peg, kick in the trash can.

We collect first-aid kit

All medicines that crumbs may need while traveling should be at hand. This applies to gastrointestinal drugs, which are better to take with the first symptoms of the disorder. What is included in the first aid kit?

Manganese is a disinfectant for gastrointestinal infections.

Sorbent - neutralizes and removes toxins from the body.

Note: activated charcoal is much less effective than sorbents of the new generation, it should be used only in the absence of other means.

Regidron is a salt preparation for watering a child with severe vomiting and diarrhea.

A remedy for restoring normal intestinal flora.

Our advice for intestinal infection in an infant: for prevention purposes, 2-3 weeks before the trip, it makes sense to give the baby a lactobacillus drug, especially if the baby has taken antibiotics or has recently had a gastrointestinal illness.

At the blue sea

Moving to another climatic zone is in itself a serious stress for the child's organism, and unusual water and food, coupled with very vague ideas of hygiene in hot seaside cities, create an additional danger. In order not to spoil the rest to yourself and your baby, observe several important rules.

Choose hotels that have a children's table or at least serve classic European cuisine.

If you rent an apartment, buy products not in the markets, but in supermarkets.

Give the child only bottled water from well-known manufacturers.

Do not buy delicacies and freshly squeezed juices from e-trays and especially from peddlers.

Do not bathe the child in the adult pool at the hotel and rinse it under the shower after the children's "paddling pool".

A good disinfectant property is the usual green tea.

It is not necessary to introduce crumbs to culinary exotics, especially seafood, meat dishes and tropical fruits - the reaction of the children's intestines may be unexpected.

Tummies hurt

Even the most vigilant parents who follow all the rules of hygiene, do not always avoid the summer stomach upset in the baby. Abundant liquid stools are fraught with dehydration, which is aggravated by heat. Do not expect that everything will pass by itself: the younger the child, the more dangerous the consequences of procrastination.

First of all, you need to make an enema with a solution of potassium permanganate at a rate of 2-3 crystals per 1 liter of water. The solution is poured into another glassware, carefully making sure that there are no crystals left in it. Water should be lukewarm.

The same solution should be drunk in the morning and in the evening: children over the age of a year - half a glass, after 7 years - in a glass, pectorals bark from a spoon at will.

With severe diarrhea and vomiting, children are salted with a saline solution of the regidron. The smallest drip it every half hour from the pipette, after six months, give with a spoon.

With diarrhea, babies continue to give their breasts, but often even a little; children over the age of not fed at all, but give them a drink: green tea, decoction of wild cherry, chamomile.

After the cessation of diarrhea, children are given preparations for the restoration of intestinal flora for three weeks.

If the diarrhea and vomiting can not be stopped within six hours, the child should be shown to the doctor. In no case should children be given fixing medications: they can cause severe intoxication.

Forest residents

In the middle latitudes, the risk of catching intestinal infection is significantly lower than in hot countries, but microbes are also found in the country.

Replace the usual soap with liquid and add to the bottle 10-12 drops of tea tree oil. Products from the city carry only in a bag-refrigerator. If there is no sanitation in the dacha, it is advisable to get a portable dry closet or at least close the hole of the summer toilet, sprinkle around with bleach, and regularly throw peat off the site. Naturally, children in this case should use only a pot.

All vegetables, fruits and berries, even from the garden, thoroughly wash first raw and then boiled water.

If you buy milk from private traders, it must be thoroughly boiled.

Our tip: Filter the drinking water with a household filter or throw 5-10 tablets of activated carbon into it, and then boil it, after removing the sorbent. Still, it is safer to use water from bottles to drink.
