Little-known facts about lipstick

From historical facts it became known that the queen Cleopatra, in order to make a lipstick, used a special mixture. These were the ants' eggs and a crushed mixture of red beetles. Also, to create a pearl color, melt the fish with scales. Even later, when the golden era of Islam came, a solid kind of lipstick was developed. He was invented by the Andalusian physician (Arab by origin) Abu al-Qasim al-Zahravi. The doctor also unpacked lipstick on the molds, which looked like strips.

But Catholics and the Catholic Church were against such a woman's reception. They said that lipstick was destructive for women - this is nothing more than the mutilation of the holy image of the Virgin Mary. So many women just because of lipstick succumbed to persecution and were announced by the people.

But in England, back in the 16th century, when the ruler was Elizabeth the First, a completely new trend began to enter the fashion - snow-white skin, which was shaded by the blood-red lipstick. In those days lipstick was made on the basis of beeswax and special coloring plant extracts were added to its composition. But, unfortunately, the era of fashion for lipstick did not last long. In 1653 the movement under the leadership of the pastor rose and lipstick, like the rest of the cosmetics, were called diabolical tricks. The English parliament also entered this path. In 1770 a special decree was issued, in which they announced that women seducing a man with the help of cosmetics should fall into the category of witches.

But not only the pastor and the parliament were opponents of cosmetics, Queen Victoria also treated them. So, in 1800 she decided that calling a vulgar makeup would be tactfully correct.

This trend lasted until the19th century. And until then lipstick was considered a sign of light-mindedness of the female sex. But the opposition of women was even stronger. Since those times, the confrontation of the sexes began, so many representatives of the beautiful sex acted lipstick. One of them was Sarah Bernhardt and she said that cosmetics are ethnics other than the greatest discovery.

The dawn begins

And only the first half of the 20th century recognized the discovery of lipstick in the number of women's cosmetics. In 1949, the first machines for the production of lipsticks were produced. Products were packed with special plastic bags and metal tubes. Since the production was fully mechanized and automated, the cost of the products began to decrease, so it became available to many women.
