Means for sunburn

Avoid sunburn in the warmest months of the year, and even somewhere in the resort, it is quite difficult, despite the entire arsenal of modern means for sunburn. Coming to the beach, we try to get a chocolate tan for the available 7-10 days of vacation. But the sunburn manifests itself much faster than it seems to us, though not immediately, but usually by the end of the day.

If you still had this trouble (the skin reddened, it hurts and itches), try to help her. Treat burned areas immediately, as soon as you find a burn.

1. Try the old grandmother's way - compresses from cool (but not cold!) Milk, kefir or sour cream. Such compresses will soften irritation and itching. Proteins contained in dairy products form a protective layer on the skin, preventing evaporation of moisture. For enzymes that regenerate the skin to function properly, they need moisture.

2. To relieve inflammation, you can take ibuprofen (400 mg every four hours) for a few days until the redness comes off.

3. Since ultraviolet, damaging the skin and deeper tissues, forms free radicals, then with sunburn, and even in case of fire, it is necessary to take antioxidants for their neutralization . The best in this sense are green tea and pomegranate juice. Both have anti-inflammatory effects and contain a large number of antioxidants. In a sufficient amount of antioxidants are found in other fresh vegetables and fruits, in nuts and legumes. Therefore, eat at least three servings of fresh vegetables and fruits (especially different berries) daily.

4. In the first few days after the burn, you can apply cosmetic with aloe (alcohol lotion or gel) or simply smudge with fresh aloe juice. Aloe has a strong anti-inflammatory properties, it soothes, moisturizes and cools the burnt skin.

5. It helps to remove inflammation and reduce the unpleasant consequences of burns. A mask from raw, grated potatoes or raw egg white.

6. Never wash scalded skin with soap and water , do not rub fatty creams into it, and do not use cosmetic products with a high alcohol content.

7. When the skin begins to peel, moisten it with lotions for the body - the more, the better, at least 3 times a day.

8. Do not rip off the exfoliating skin , no matter how much you want to get back to being "smooth" again - this will only enhance the peeling. Often moisturize it and let it peel naturally.

9. Until the peeling stops, do not use scrubs and other exfoliating agents , as well as products containing retinoids and vitamin A, glycolic, salicylic and other hydroxy acids. The new skin is too tender and delicate, and all these remedies can damage it or cause severe irritation.

10. In case of severe burns accompanied by bubbles, headache, chills, or fever, always consult a doctor!

But the most important, of course, is not to allow new burns! Acquire the full spectrum of sunscreens, and necessarily those that block both types of solar radiation - UVA and UVB, and apply them more often. Refrain for several days from hiking to the beach. Do not think that it's enough to close the damaged places with clothes. Synthetics allows up to 15% of the sun's rays, and even natural cotton, which best protects against radiation, allows up to 6% of the radiation. If the clothes get wet, 20% of the sun's rays pass through it.

Remember that solar procedures help strengthen immunity, improve metabolism, enhance mental and physical performance. But the abuse of the sun is harmful to health and beauty.
