- Water should be poured water. The irrigation regime should also be uniform and moderate, and it should only be strengthened in the summer. The lack of water causes yellowing and the loss of leaves, and too much moisture causes rotting of the root neck.
- At any time of year lightly sprinkle the leaves with water. Ficus like high humidity.
- Feed them with liquid fertilizers once every two weeks in autumn and spring.
Transplantation and reproduction of ficuses
It is best to replant the plant in a new place in the spring. Young people need to do this procedure annually, and older than five years - every two or three years. Soil is better to take complex, adding in equal parts compost, humus, turf, peat and sand.
To multiply the ficuses, you need to cut off the semi-stiffened cuttings from the top of the plant. On the cut must appear juice. It must be washed off, and the seedling put in a glass of water. When he releases the first roots, he can be transplanted into the sand for further strengthening.
You can propagate ficuses and seeds. In the spring they are poured onto the earth mix and covered with a layer of soil. It is better if the soil composition includes river sand and a few wilted leaves. The pots are covered with glass and kept in a damp room. Twice a day, the crops should be opened for half an hour to allow the seeds to breathe. When the first leaves appear, the plant is dived, and when there are several leaves, they are transplanted into separate pots.
A more complex method of reproduction is airlifting. It can be used from May to September. Under the sheet make a small cut in the trunk. A match is made in it, processed with a powder for propagation. Place wrapped in wet moss and bandaged, covered with a film. Within two months, the roots will appear in place of the incision, and some can be cut off and transplanted into a separate pot.
