Proper lighting of the apartment

This is said in an old book on housekeeping. More than a century has passed, and councils for the proper lighting of the apartment have become even greater.

Over the sofa or on the side of it, a wall-mounted, desk lamp or floor lamp is installed for reading during the rest. In some quiet corner, next to a deep recliner, a lamp with a large lampshade (visor) is installed. The height of such a light source above the floor should be about 135 cm. Further - in more detail. Above the tea table, you can strengthen the low hanging lamp, which directly illuminates the table.

CANTEEN. It is necessary to install a direct lighting lamp in the form of a lamp, low down over the very surface of the table. The distance between the light source and the table top is typically 60 cm.

BEDROOM. This room should have a central light of low brightness and a direct lighting fixture above or to the side of each bed. In this case it is very convenient when the lamp has a light beam regulator, so that when reading in bed, do not interfere with another person to sleep.

OFFICE. On the surface of the table for work a table lamp is provided, the light of which must necessarily fall on the left or front. If the table is small in size or made in the form of a secretor, it is better to install a wall lamp that will not occupy an already small table area.

KITCHEN. The kitchen should have a central luminaire and direct lighting above the working board itself. If this is a very small working kitchen, one directional lighting is enough, which simultaneously will illuminate the whole room. One central lighting without directional will not be enough, because the hostess will create a shadow on the working board.

BATHROOM. The bathroom should have direct lighting above or to the side of the mirror above the washbasin. This lighting can be the only one, if the bathroom is very small. Here, too, does not apply only the use of central lighting, which leaves the face in the shade.

THE RECEPTION. In the hallway, there must be central lighting, which is lit only at the entrance to the apartment, as well as directional lighting above the mirror to the side of it.

If the solution of the apartment is such that in one large room all the functions are concentrated: staying, eating, working and sleeping, then the lighting should be properly combined so that it looks better and more functional.
