Most often, counterfeit banknotes are found in the bank (when you put money into an account or buy a currency) or when calculating in a store. In this case, the cashier by law must withdraw fake or questionable bills and send them for examination to the bank. Sometimes he can call the police to investigate, you will be asked how a fake banknote came to you, and you will be asked to fill out special papers. If you withdraw money for examination, ask for an official certificate in return. This document should include your name, passport details and address, as well as the details of each doubtful note (its denomination, year of issue, series, number). The certificate must be signed and certified with a round seal of the cashier. After examination at the bank, you are required to issue an official opinion. Real banknotes will be returned, and fake ones, unfortunately, will be destroyed without any compensation. If you independently found in your wallet an unquestionably fake, do not try to spend it in a store or in the market - in case of withdrawal of a bill and calling a militia in addition to money, you will lose time and nerves. The easiest way is to throw such a bill, tearing it into small pieces, or destroy it by any other means.
