Sensory child, help the child to develop

Sensory child - a new phenomenon in the design of children's rooms.
A sensory room for a child is an ideal setting in which the child not only relaxes, but also gets new ideas about the world, new sensations, and is charged with energy for active activities.

The main task of the sensory room is to influence the sense organs, to evoke a variety of sensory experiences, sensations.

Sensory rooms were invented in 1970 in Holland. Initially, they were used only for therapeutic purposes: in the relaxing atmosphere of the sensory room, sessions were held with patients with cerebral palsy and with people subject to mental disorders. In such rooms everything was thought out: light sources of different intensity, soothing music, massagers, fountains and living plants. After classes with specialists in the sensory rooms, the patients quickly calmed down, they began to feel more confident, they went more easily to contact with others.

The second step in the development of the methodology of sensory rooms was made by scientists of Great Britain. They used these rooms not only for treatment, but also for the prevention of stress and neurosis. At the same time, it was noticed that the small patients are enchanted by the sensory rooms. With this, the use of sensory rooms for pedagogical purposes began.

What is a sensory room for a child, what effect does the sensory child achieve?

This room is often called magical: here everything is shimmering, shining and sounding. In such a room the child learns through sensory sensations. Scientists have proved that the poorer the world of sensory sensations of a child, the slower it develops, and in behavior and outlook, more stereotypes become. Such a child closes in himself, with difficulty goes to contact, does not know how to behave in non-standard situations.

The lack of sensory sensations scientists call sensory hunger - in this state the child needs increased attention, caresses, gentle touches. All this helps the baby to open up, feel needed and loved.

This effect helps to achieve a sensory room. Of course, the sensory children's arrangement is simpler than a room in a school or a psychologist, but there are general rules here.

So, how to arrange a sensory nursery?
The main thing is to achieve as many diverse sensations as possible. Correctly arranged sensory children influence the child with various stimulants - light, tactile sensations, smells, music. Try to take into account all factors when planning a children's room.

To develop visual perception, use different light sources: a bright chandelier, muted lamps, colorful nightlights. On the wall, you can hang a New Year's garland - they not only diversify the lighting, but also create a festive atmosphere. Install the aquarium with a night light.

The use of different finishing materials contributes to the development of tactile perception. Let in the room there will be several carpets or paths, on which the child can play. In the decoration of walls, use paper wallpaper, wooden and plastic panels. Necessarily various textiles: curtains, bedspreads, blankets. Set up the music center, pick up discs suitable for your child with music, fairy tales or children's poems. In the interior use different colors, do not be afraid of bold combinations. If possible, try to diversify the furniture in the nursery: you can replace the bed with a water mattress, come up with an interesting table shape, buy round chairs.

For children, the unity of style is not important, the main thing is convenience and fun! In such a child's child it is pleasant to play and learn.
