When the couturier was still in his youth, the gypsy woman predicted the future for him. She said that at one point he will be left without money, but women will bring him success and help become a rich man. Christian was then only 14 years old and he just laughed when he heard this story.

The teenager was suspicious of all kinds of predictions and did not imagine what it was like to remain without money, because his father was a famous businessman. Parents sent Christian into a diplomatic career, but did not turn to his desire to become an artist. And so, the teenager was sent to the School of Political Science in Paris.

But his political career did not work out, and the desire to devote himself to art was stronger. Christian and his friend decided to sell antiques and open an art gallery. Dior fell into Parisian bohemia and did not think that this could come to an end. But at one point everything changed. In 1931, Christian was left without a mother. My father cheated on the partner and he went bankrupt. The picture gallery was closed, and Dior could only survive with the help of friends.

The catastrophic shortage of money made Dior remember his childhood passion, namely drawing. For the newspaper "Figaro" he painted a series of sketches of hats and dresses. Christian received the first fee and realized that this is a hobby and will bring him money. So he started collaborating with several magazines, was engaged in creating clothes for different couturiers.

The history of the brand began after the war. One textile tycoon made an offer to Dior to become an art director in his Fashion House, the task was to raise him to his feet after World War II. Christian agreed, but he always knew the value of his talent, so he put the condition that the fashion house should be called "The House of Christian Dior." The condition was accepted, and Dior took up his work.

In 1947, in Paris, where in the winter after the war there were constant problems with coal, gasoline, electricity and clean water, Christian Dior showed his first collection, which he called "New Look". The girls on the podium seemed to be the most beautiful exotic flowers, went out in gorgeous dresses. The spectators were fascinated and admiringly watching this holiday among post-war Paris. Christian Dior gave them anew to understand that women are gentle and beautiful.

The first show brought incredible success. Couturier said that he wanted to show the similarity of women with flowers. In that post-war time, it turned out to be just what the female half lacked. So Dior began to perceive as an idol, who returned femininity and tenderness. So the prediction of the gypsy came true - it was the women who brought success. Dior remembered these words, understood that the prophecies were coming true. Now the fashion designer became superstitious enough that he had his own personal prophetess - Madame Delahaye. Without her advice, Dior did not make a single decision.

For several years the Fashion House of Christian Dior has turned into a huge network of enterprises, with 2000 people working there. Dior did not recognize any work, except manual. Absolutely all the clothes had to be accompanied by painstaking labor. The fashion designer did not want the Fashion House to become an enterprise producing an unrestricted work of art, because otherwise they would not be able to be called that way. Couturier treated dresses as living beings.

Over time, Kristan Dior became famous for his extravagance and decided to open a company that produces perfume. After all, spirits are the continuation of the outfit and completely complete the image, in this Dior was confident. So the first perfume appeared under the brand name Dior - Diorissimo, Diorama, J'adore, Miss Dior. They still enjoy incredible popularity and are considered classics.

In 1956, the perfume Diorissimo was released, in which the main accent is the mascot of the House of Dior - lily of the valley. These were the first perfumes in which this fragrance was present.

Dior did not stop there and decided to open another branch of the House of Dior, which would produce cosmetics. After all, the couturier realized that cosmetics would find its application in the woman's toilet.

In 1955, Dior released lipstick, in 1961 - nail polish, and in 1969 began the production of cosmetics by series. The brand has always tried to find the right combination of colors for the entire series. Dior was never repeated when creating new colors, each time new colors were selected, but they all blended harmoniously with each other.

The fashion designer worked from morning till night, and this could not but affect his health. For the first time he did not listen to his fortune-teller and went to Italy for treatment. October 24, 1957 in Italy, Christian Dior died of a heart attack.

After his death, Yves Saint Laurent became the main designer of the house. By the time it was still a young fashion designer who worked in the firm for four years. In 1960, he was called up for military service, and replaced by Marc Boan, who in 1989 replaced Gianfranco Ferre. And in 1996, the main fashion designer in the House of Christian Dior was John Galliano.
