Acceleration of growth and development in children

Often in relation to boys and boys, the word "accelerator" is used. And it is used to accent early teeth, high growth, greater weight in comparison with peers, sports achievements, scientific successes. But there is a reverse connotation of this term: evoking clothing and hair, negative behavior. The word "accelerator" can have a positive connotation, and maybe a negative one. So what does acceleration really mean? How did the term originate and why is it applied to children?

So, the term "acceleration" has been in use for more than seventy years and was first proposed in 1935 by the German physician E.M. Koch. Translated from Latin, it means "acceleration" and is intended to indicate an increase in the growth, weight and other physical characteristics of children, adolescents compared with peers from other generations. Acceleration occurs in Europe, the US, Russia, and Asia, and in cities it is more pronounced than in rural areas. On the basis of such a wide spread of this phenomenon, scientists talk about the tendency inherent in the natural development of man in the modern world.

Researchers of this phenomenon agree on the opinion that the growth of the well-being of the new generation plays an integral role in the acceleration of growth and development in children. In addition, of course, improving the level of medical care positively affects acceleration, as well as an increase in the network of pre-school and school institutions for children, where the best conditions for the development and growth of the child are created, including sports. On the other hand, researchers can not give an unambiguous explanation, in this connection, urban children grow faster than their rural peers.

It would seem that the situation should be reversed, the ecology of the countryside is much better and has for accelerating, but the pace of life there is slower. Scientists are asking themselves, can carbon dioxide be a catalyst for the growth of the child's body, because they are saturated with air in the cities. But this assumption has no real confirmation and is even refuted by contradictory facts.

Researchers from around the world are trying to put forward their theories about the acceleration of children, often completely different. This problem worries doctors, psychologists, sociologists, educators, lawyers and companies engaged in the production of clothing and footwear. The latter often have to revise the size standards for teenage models.

Acceleration of adolescents, that is, their accelerated development, over the past decades is registered in the most diverse climatic, geographic and socio-economic regions of the Earth.

The growth energy of the child is accompanied by early sexual and physical maturation. Externally, this is manifested by an increase in weight and longitudinal dimensions of the body. To date, the literature has not published data on the degree of moral, civic, social upbringing of children. Obviously, accelerating the development of children is an urgent problem that goes beyond medicine. Particularly serious questions she poses for pedagogy, whose work should be aimed at mobilizing the attention of parents, teachers of schools, university teachers, as well as improving the educational work of children and adolescents, directing them to harmonious development.

An important issue is to ensure the hygiene of the child's body, as well as the "hygiene" of the nervous system of adolescents, their brains. The formation of cultural and hygienic skills in children is necessary through psychological and physical education. It must be remembered that the social, mental, physical formation of the personality is a single process. Perfection, intelligence, maturity do not come by themselves. In order for the child to master them, it is necessary to spend a lot of effort, patience, hassle, to use special knowledge to raise a child.

Studying the issue of accelerating children during the last 50 years has allowed us to conclude that the rate of physical development will slow down. This trend is already observed in some cities with population over one million.
