1. Crush corn flakes to the consistency of large crumbs and set aside. Grind the nuts. 2. Finely chop maraschino cherries to make 1/3 cup. The remaining 10 cherries cut in half or quarters, set aside for decoration. 3. Sift together flour in a large bowl, baking powder, soda, salt and set aside. Beat the softened butter and sugar in a medium bowl. Add the eggs and beat thoroughly. Add milk and vanilla extract, whisk. 5. Add the sifted dry ingredients together with nuts and finely chopped cherries, mix well. 6. Use a small scoop for ice cream or a tablespoon to form balls from the dough. Roll balls in crushed corn flakes. 7. Lay the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, about 5 apart. Decorate the cookies with halves or quarters of maraschino cherries. Bake the biscuits in the oven at 190 degrees for 12 minutes until it browns. If you have a large cookie, you will need a little more time, about 15 minutes.
