For many, the Valentino brand is associated with a red dress. Legendary red dresses, as well as classic men's suits are the business card of this brand. Luxury, elegance are all contained in one letter V. The history of the Valentino brand begins in the late 50s, when a young designer named Valentino Garavani opens her studio in Italy and produces her first collection.
At first things did not go very well, because there was not enough money and before the release of the first collection of the studio, Valentino was on the verge of bankruptcy. His first collection he showed at the contest in Florence and he was noticed by influential people. They started to write about him, and the clients just filled him with orders. The first collection called Gotha made it megapool.
In 1962, he released his second collection, which became as successful as he was about talking about as a designer with a promising future. In a short time, Valentino opened his fashion house "Valentino" in Rome. After a time, the famous women of the era became Jacqueline Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly, and others. Later, well-known Hollywood actresses joined this list of women.
In the early 60's Valentino began to add to his main collections of legendary red dresses. Every year he released one red dress. In order to present his next red dress, he invited world stars. Valentino believed that the red color is suitable for all women without exception, the most important thing is to choose the right shade. A woman in a red dress will always be in the spotlight, because there is so much in this color - both love, and passion, and death.
In 1967, Valentino released his legendary "White Collection", which was dedicated to Jacqueline Kennedy. Along with the variegated collections of other designers, his white collection made a real sensation in the fashion world. It is known that Jacqueline ordered a wedding dress for the maestro. As a result, he sewed for her a short white lace dress. Soon, the designer was awarded a very prestigious award in the world of fashion called Neiman Marcos. In total for 10 years he managed to achieve world recognition, he began to set a fashionable tone in Italy.
Time passed, and with the release of female couture collections Valentino decided to start producing men's collections. Remarkable is the fact that it was this fashion brand that for the first time in the world began to produce couture collections of men's suits.
In 1978 the Fashion House "Valentino" releases its perfume (before that time, famous fashion houses did not practice the production of their perfume). Soon this brand started producing bags and accessories. After a while, the light was seen by Valentino's watches (together with the company Sector Group, a watch collection called Valentino Timeless was released).
In 1990, the famous Garavani opened his own Academy of Fashion in Rome, in the hope that over time, future fashion legends will come out of its walls. In 2008, Valentottino decided to completely withdraw from the fashion world. He sold his fashion house to the private English investment fund Permira. The Italian organized a spectacular last show at the Rodin Museum.
New designers of the brand, although they adhere to the overall style of Valentino, still in their collections there are dresses designed for young people (these outfits are made of uncharacteristic for the brand materials). Despite everything, the present collections of this famous brand have preserved the aesthetics and elegance of the great designer.
Personal life
Personal life the famous designer hid as he could, only relatives and relatives knew about his hobbies. For some time he had a relationship with the Italian actress Marila Tolo. It is known that Valentino felt great love for this woman, because he once confessed that he would like children from her. He had lovers and mistresses. Now the great designer meets with Giancarlo Jammatti. He met with Giancarlo in 1960 in Rome, later he became his business partner. It was Jamatti's entrepreneurial talent that greatly influenced the success of the then still unknown designer Valentino.
Valentino is fond of art and together with her boyfriend they collect paintings and other art objects. All art objects are kept at their homes in different houses. Garavani is also known for its love of luxury homes.
Valentino is also a well-known philanthropist, he finances children's funds. In his French estate in 2011, a charitable point was created, the money from which was donated to the needs of children with disrupted development.
At present, uncrowned fashion emperor Valentino Garavani leads a quiet and peaceful life, from time to time appearing at social events.
